Sydney Sweeney may be one of the most glamorous actors in all of Hollywood right now - but that doesn't mean that the blond bombshell doesn't have range.

In fact, she's already proving a lot of her naysayers wrong about being "just a pretty face" - by totally transforming for her last movie role.

The 27-year-old actress will be taking on the role of boxer Christy Martin in a new biopic about the sports star's life.

Christy, a former WBC super welterweight champion who was known as 'The Coal Miner's Daughter', made her in-ring boxing debut in 1989 and is credited with helping to bring women's boxing into the mainstream.

However, despite her incredible sporting success, she also lived a tumultuous personal life, in which her husband tried to kill her.

Martin's life will be depicted in a currently-untitled movie with Sweeney portraying the boxer and David Michôd directing.

And after images from production on the movie were captured and leaked in the press by paparazzi, Sweeney took to Instagram on Wednesday (October 16), to share a closer look at how she's physically transformed for the role.

Sharing two behind-the-scenes photos from the set, she wrote: "Taking to well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film im working on right now. over the past few months, i’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. more to come soon".

And as well as being excited for the Sweeney's next big role, fans couldn't get over the simple fact that the actress was looking JACKED for the role (I mean, she is playing a boxer after all.)

"Didn’t know Sydney was jacked like that," one person commented.

Another fan added: "We got buff Sydney before GTA 6."

"Sydney Swoley," another dubbed the actress, with a fourth writing: "Girl, your muscles".

As previously mentioned, social media trolls have previously criticized Sweeney for landing roles based on her good looks - often questioning her acting ability. (Despite the star delivering fantastic - and serious - performances in shows like Euphoria and The Handmaid's Tale.)

Opening up about the criticism she has faced, she told Variety: "I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction. I don’t know how to explain it - I’m still trying to figure it out myself. People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away," she said.

"That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. ... It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.”

One thing's for sure; we cannot wait for this to hit theaters and for Sweeney to hit it out of the park... or the ring.
