The Euphoria star, 27, underwent a huge transformation recently for her latest role as boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic.

And while many were impressed at the transformation, the star also faced a slew of negative comments from trolls.

On Friday, Sweeney shared a video showcasing screenshots of some of the cruel and hurtful messages from online trolls, labeling her as “too pale,” “frumpy,” and even “an average chunky Yankee girl.”

Rather than letting the remarks define her, she followed them with footage of her intense training regimen as she prepares to play the renowned female boxer.

The video revealed the rigorous workouts Sweeney has been undertaking to transform for the role. Her routine includes flipping tires, performing cable pull-ups, and engaging in cardio-heavy boxing exercises.

Fans quickly rallied around Sweeney, flooding her comments section with messages of support.

“Guess they drag you no matter what you do,” one fan wrote, as another added: "girl you look AMAZING. they all sound jealous."

Others commented: "They’re just not used to seeing a superhuman," and: "She looks incredible anyone who says otherwise is insane."

One added: "anyone who calls sydney 'average' or a 'butterface' has me concerned about their eyesight. like… are we looking at the same woman? some men need to get off the internet and touch some grass."

Sweeney first revealed her involvement in the David Michôd-directed biopic in October, after paparazzi captured photos of her in costume.

At the time, she posted on Instagram, saying: “Well the cat’s out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film I’m working on right now.”

She also shared her perspective on the significance of the project. “Over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman – a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story,” Sweeney wrote.

Christy, a former WBC super welterweight champion who was known as 'The Coal Miner's Daughter', made her in-ring boxing debut in 1989 and is credited with helping to bring women's boxing into the mainstream.

However, despite her incredible sporting success, she also lived a tumultuous personal life, in which her husband tried to kill her.

Sweeney previously addressed the trolling she faces. as she told Variety: "I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction. I don’t know how to explain it - I’m still trying to figure it out myself.

"People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away," she said.

"That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. ... It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.”
