Netflix viewers have been left terrified and "sick to their stomachs" after watching a new thriller movie called Missing. The chilling movie was released on the streaming service on Saturday (May 20) and sees Storm Reid star alongside Nia Long and Ken Leung. It follows a teenager named June Allen (played by Reid) who is left home alone in Los Angeles after her mother (Long) goes on holiday to Colombia with her boyfriend (Leung). Things take a sudden turn after the couple doesn't return on time which causes June to be worried that something terrible has happened. So, she tries to track down her - missing - mother, only to be restricted by international red tape. Upon seeing the film, viewers have taken to Twitter to share their experiences. One user wrote: "Missing on Netflix is lowkey a fire movie when she went to click that live photo I was SICK TO MY STOMACH." Another user said: "The movie 'Missing' on Netflix was really good, but also gave me hella anxiety," while a third commented: "I just watched Missing on Netflix and omfg. John Nugent from <a href="https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/missing/">Empire magazin</a>e gave it 4/5 and said that it was "a gripping, well-told, incredibly watchable thriller for a new generation of TikTok sleuths - and a compelling argument to up your average screen-time". Jack Bottomley from <a href="https://www.starburstmagazine.com/reviews/missing/">Starburst</a> also gave it the same score, and penned: "Missing does unleash some mighty big twists and turns, at points stretching the very credulity it successfully builds overall, and maybe having one reveal too many. "But - despite threatening to - it never comes off the rails, and even with some more Hollywood-like climactic beats, remains an engaging story of motherhood, secrets, and trust, that (like the first) is painstakingly assembled through a storm of inventive multimedia technology," he added. Missing is actually a follow-up to the 2018 thriller Searching, which starred John Cho as a father frantically searching for his disappeared daughter with the help of Debra Messing's detective.
