Reports have emerged alleging that Sydney Sweeney has been cut out of The Devil Wears Prada sequel.
The Euphoria actress has recently made headlines for her numerous revealing outfits, or lack thereof, in the newly released third season of the hit HBO series.
Sweeney was set to feature in The Devil Wears Prada 2, after being pictured heading to the set of the hotly anticipated sequel back in mid-2025.
The film sees the return of key names such as Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt, though some other stars are set to make cameos.
Speculation began, suggesting that the actress would appear in the project.
While Sweeney was slated to do so, it has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly that she won't, for one particular reason.
Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Sweeney shot a scene that would have appeared near the start of the film.
According to a source, the scene was removed in a "creative decision," as it did not fit in with the flow of the title.
The publication reported that it structurally didn't work with the rest of the sequence, despite those working on the film being grateful for her participation.
Mulling over the difficult decision, it's believed that Andy Sachs (Hathaway), Miranda Priestly (Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Tucci) arrive at the Dior offices, where Emily (Blunt), is an executive.
They seek her help as Runway is on the verge of imploding, and Sweeney reportedly appeared in a scene that built on Emily's introduction.
It saw Emily work with dressing a celebrity client, as the Euphoria star played herself in the three-minute scene.
Her removal from the film comes just days after she caused controversy with her OnlyFans scenes shot as character Cassie, for Euphoria.
Some critics believed that the outfits were "vulgar", but fans took to social media to voice their own concerns with the third season of Euphoria.
One of the shocking scenes involved the actress lying on her back with her chest exposed and legs open in the air, sporting pigtails and a pacifier in her mouth,
She followed this up by wearing dog-inspired lingerie, as she drank out of dog bowls for her fans.
In the latest episode, Sweeney turned the heat up even further in a full frontal nude scene featuring ice cream, baseball, and the American flag.
One wrote: “Honestly, the boundary has been crossed,” while another described the outfits as "sick".
“This alone just made me not wanna watch it anymore,” a third claimed, with a different user agreeing: "We shouldn’t be okay with this… the entire production should be held responsible for this abhorrent mess."
Some questioned how they had agreed to do this in the first place, as most users agreed that it was a "disturbing" sight.
“How the hell did we come to this. Euphoria was so peak in SN 1 and 2,” one fan stated.
Speaking about performing nude scenes in past projects, she told W Magazine: "I don’t get nervous. I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done."
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson specifically defended the scenes from season three, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor, but what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.
"What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion - the gag is to jump out, to break the wall."
