At 49 years of age, Gwyneth Paltrow feels as excited about life as she did 30 years ago.

The Goop founder and Oscar winner revealed that she doesn’t view midlife as a time to wind down or settle for what she already has in life.

Instead, as she said it's a time for discovery, celebration, and a fulfilling romance, she told TODAY.

"I love middle age," she raved. "I'm super into it."

"By the time you're in your mid-40s, you really know yourself. And I think if you really give yourself the permission to be yourself, it's so freeing," she added.

Paltrow tied the knot with writer and producer of Glee, Brad Falchuk, three years ago.

"I just feel so grateful," she said of their relationship. "The quality of our communication and our friendship, it's really thrilling."

The actress was previously married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin from 2003 until their amicable divorce in 2016.

The pair share two children together; daughter Apple, 17, and son Moses, 15.

What's more, they're on great terms.

Fans got a sample of just how thrilling it is last month, when Falchuk marked Paltrow’s 49th birthday by sharing a moving tribute to her on Instagram.

Falchuk highlighted her beauty, humor, observance and actions, and he ended his long message noting, "if anyone deserves to be celebrated it's you, Gwyneth."

Speaking about the adoring caption, Gwyneth said: "I think (it's) wonderful for people who had a marriage or a relationship that didn't work out to understand that it's really possible to meet your dream man halfway through your life."

It comes as Gwyneth revealed that her son is proud of her for selling sex toys on Goop.

Appearing on The Ellen Show, she recalled what her 15-year-old son recently told her about her company Goop selling sexual pleasure massage toys.

Gwyneth launched Goop in September of 2008, and it has since become a successful health and lifestyle brand which sells a range of products.

Most recently, the brand started selling various vibrators and sex toys in a bid to help women with their sexual health.

"Can I tell you the sweetest thing? This really happened," she told Ellen.

"A few months ago, out of nowhere, he said, 'Mom, I was really embarrassed for a minute that Goop sold vibrators. And then I realized no, this is great - you're making people feel not embarrassed to buy something, and that's great. You're a feminist.'

"I was like, 'Thank you, my dear!' It was so cute. It was really, really nice. I'm sure he's still embarrassed, but at least he's putting a good spin on it," she added.
