Gypsy Rose Blanchard has opened up about the star she thinks should play her in a biopic - revealing that she's got her eye on Millie Bobby Brown for the role.
The now-32-year-old was freed from prison in December after serving eight years for her part in planning the murder of her mother, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, who died in 2015.
Dee Dee had been stabbed to death by Nicholas Godejohn, Gypsy Rose's then-boyfriend who she'd met on a Christian dating site and who is currently serving a life sentence after the pair had planned the killing together.
Several TV series and films have already been released covering the case and Gypsy Rose's life, however, she revealed that she thinks Millie would do a good job playing her in a future story about her life.
Speaking to Access Hollywood in a new interview, Gypsy Rose admitted: "It's funny, because I always wanted Millie Bobby Brown to play me. I think she'd be good at playing me. I always had [her] in mind!"
With Gypsy Rose having released a memoir telling her side of the story for the first time, there's every chance it could potentially be made into a biopic or a series at some stage in the future, given the massive interest in her life, especially since her release.
One of the best-known portrayals of Gypsy Rose's story on screen was in The Act, which starred Joey King in the role.
While Gypsy Rose admitted she'd never seen it, she was impressed with Joey's imitation of her voice, telling the outlet: "I still have not watched The Act, I feel like... I lived it, it was my life, I don't feel like I have to go back and rewatch it played out.
"I'm sure that Joey King did an amazing job playing me, I actually heard an audio clip of her doing my voice and I think she got it spot on.
"But I think honestly not reliving the trauma is the best option for me."
The Hulu drama was released in 2019 and saw Joey play Gypsy Rose while the role of Dee Dee was played by Patricia Arquette.
Gypsy Rose had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for her part in the plot to murder her mom, but was released early after serving eight.
She'd told the court about how she and Nicholas had discussed plans to kill her mother before he committed the heinous act, after she believed it was her only way to get away from the abuse she'd been subjected to by Dee Dee.
Gypsy Rose had been a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy inflicted on her by her mother, who'd forced her to undergo several treatments and painful surgeries for a series of illnesses she'd faked her daughter having.
Dee Dee had claimed that Gypsy Rose suffered from leukemia and muscular dystrophy as well as having the mental capacity of a child, all of which were later found not to have been true.
While serving her sentence, Gypsy Rose met and married her current husband, Ryan Anderson, and the couple have since been making the most of getting to know each other properly now she is a free woman.
