Gypsy Rose Blanchard - known for her role in the highly publicized murder of her mother Dee Dee - is set to be released from prison on December 28.

With her freedom just days away, comments made by friends of her family have resurfaced, as they voiced their concerns about Gypsy Rose's release.

In 2015, Gypsy Rose was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her involvement in her mother's murder, while her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, received a life sentence for carrying out the gruesome act.

The case garnered international attention as it unraveled the twisted tale of abuse and manipulation Dee Dee subjected her daughter to; falsely claiming Gypsy was seriously ill, and eventually being diagnosed with Munchausen by proxy.

Originally scheduled for release in 2025, many people believe Gypsy Rose has spent long enough behind bars. But some of those closest to the now-32-year-old have raised questions about her rehabilitation and accountability following her involvement in a murder that shocked the world.

Close associates of the Blanchard family - Fancy Marcelli and Titania Gisclair - expressed concerns about Gypsy Rose's readiness for life outside of prison earlier this year. Speaking to InTouch, they highlighted her alleged reluctance to embrace counseling and the potential lingering impact of her manipulated past on her forthcoming freedom.

Marcelli voiced her apprehension, stating: "I worry about what’s going to happen to her." Their concerns revolve around the perception that Gypsy Rose has not adequately addressed her past trauma and her apparent unchanged behavior. Marcelli emphasized the need for behavioral transformation before her release.

"She doesn’t want counseling, which the prison offers," Marcelli continued. "She doesn’t feel that she needs any help. She needs better people around her."

Gisclair added complexity to the discussion by reflecting on Dee Dee's expert manipulations and Gypsy's acquired skills in deception. She remarked: "Dee Dee abused Gypsy. Her mother taught her how to scam, that’s all Gypsy knows." These concerns are amplified by the revelation of romantic prospects pursuing relationships with Gypsy, prompting worries of potential exploitation given her infamous background.

"We just want Gypsy to have as much of a normal life as possible when she’s released. And that’s going to take a lot of work," Gisclair noted.

Nevertheless, Gypsy Rose is looking forward to her release - and has even shared plans for New Year's.

In a statement to TMZ, Gypsy revealed her plans post-release. She and her husband, Ryan, have secured tickets for the Kansas City Chiefs game on December 31, just days after her anticipated release. Gypsy is hopeful that Arrowhead Stadium will be the setting for her long-awaited meeting with pop sensation Taylor Swift.

While acknowledging that Swift's presence at the Chiefs' game is uncertain, particularly if she is not there to support her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce, Gypsy has a backup plan. She intends to purchase tickets for Taylor's October 2024 tour stop in New Orleans.

Gypsy Rose holds Taylor Swift in high regard, describing her as a "kick-ass chick" who has taught her the true meaning of girl power. She attributes her strength to Taylor's music, particularly the song 'Eyes Open,' which provided inspiration and helped her cope with the trauma stemming from her mother's abuse.
