A collectible store owner in Canada has said he would be willing to sell Jeffrey Dahmer's famous glasses for an eye-watering sum of $150,000.

Dahmer is one of America's most infamous criminals, having murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. The savage killings went undetected for over a decade despite the fact that Dahmer had had a number of brushes with the law.

After he was sentenced to 16 terms of life imprisonment in February 1992, the "Milwaukee Monster" was beaten to death by a fellow inmate, Chris Scarver, in November 1994.

Both men were inmates at the Columbia Correctional Facility in Wisconsin. Wisconsin was the first to do away with the death penalty in 1853 and so, despite his horrific crimes, Dahmer was not put to death.

Interest in the disturbed murderer has been revived more than 30 years after he was convicted, due to the popularity of Netflix's new true crime drama Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which debuted on the platform last month.

Our society's fascination with serial killers seems to know no bounds, and people are even being warned against dressing up as Dahmer for Halloween later this month.

And now one man, who runs a store named Cult Collectibles, plans to take advantage of the hype.

Taylor James told TMZ that he got his hands on Dahmer's prison specs a few years ago along with some other memorabilia, after he was contacted by a former housekeeper for Dahmer's father, Lionel. James agreed to manage and sell the items via his website for a share of the profits.

The convicted sex offender's cutlery, bible, original family photos and paperwork are also being flogged on the Cult Collectibles website. But anyone who has their eyes on the costly glasses are advised to get in contact with James directly.

The internet has since responded to news that the accessory is now up for grabs, with many questioning why anyone would want to purchase the pair in the first place.

One person wrote: "Stop fetishizing serial killer cannibals you f***ing weirdos."

Another suggested: "Whoever purchases this needs to be locked up too."

A third wrote: "All those who placed a bid should be on a watch list."
