Many actors are well-known to take on their roles incredibly seriously - think Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, and Tilda Swinton.
But the most dedicated don't necessarily require drastic weight loss, switching up accents, or even wearing prosthetic genitals.
In fact, sometimes all it takes is a little imagination and, in Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder's case, getting married for real on screen. You know, to create some authenticity.
That's exactly what the pair did in 1992, when they both starred alongside each other in the Francis Ford Coppola-directed movie, Bram Stoker's Dracula, obviously based on the 1897 gothic horror novel of the same name.
Coppola's flick starred Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, Anthony Hopkins as Abraham Van Helsing, Ryder as Elisabeta/Mina Harker, and Reeves as Jonathan Harker.
It's during this movie that Reeves and Ryder's characters wed in a religious ceremony. Though, the priests hired for the scene by Coppola were real.
In an interview with Esquire, 58-year-old Reeves said: "We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we're married under the eyes of God." Ryder, 51, also commented on her 30+ year marriage to Reeves, telling Entertainment Weekly in 2018: "We actually got married in Dracula."
The actress - who was engaged in real-life to Johnny Depp - added: "No, I swear to god I think we're married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we're married."
Though, the pair never signed any official documents relating to their marriage so, as Reeves stated, the wedding is only binding in the "eyes of God".
Reeves and Ryder have never been romantically linked, although they did reunite on-screen in the 2018 movie Destination Wedding. Of course, Reeves is clearly over-the-moon in his relationship with 50-year-old artist Alexandra Grant - with the pair making several rare public appearances together over the past year or so.
The couple first met in 2011 and collaborated on a number of different projects. For instance, Grant provided the art for the books Ode To Happiness and Shadows - two volumes of poetry written by Keanu himself.
Per the Daily Mail, Grant hails from Ohio, but grew up in various parts of the world. An artist in her own right, she's been working in the arts since graduating from Swarthmore College in 1994. Since then, she's had her work exhibited in various prestigious spaces across the world, including the LACMA, the Galerie Gradiva in Paris, and The Harris Lieberman Gallery in New York.
