Conor McGregor may not be the only UFC star Billy Strutting into the octagon before fights, anymore. Because there appears to be a new fighter in town and this guy is an actual billionaire.
Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg, fresh off the monstrous success of his Threads app launch, has shared a picture of himself alongside UFC fighters Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski following a training session at his house.
And The Zuck is looking ripped.
The 39-year-old has recently been challenged by Twitter owner Elon Musk to an actual fight in the wake of Zuckerberg launching Threads and essentially driving another nail in the coffin of Musk's bird app, which has been seemingly circling the drain ever since his $44 billion takeover was confirmed.
Threads has already amassed over 100 million users after only a week of being available, further highlighting people's disdain for Twitter which has accelerated since Musk took over.
And while Musk's initial offer of a fight with Zuckerberg was met with the expected online mockery, we're sort of pumped about it after seeing Zuckerberg's latest pictures.
Two-time and current UFC Middleweight Champion Adesanya would be as good a coach as there is for a major prize fight, but Zuck seemingly wasn't happy with one of the greatest fighters of the modern era training with him, so he enlisted the help of Featherweight champion Volkanovski, who is currently also ranked number one in UFC's pound-for-pound rankings.
The trio were pictured together after their session, with the photo going viral almost instantaneously. Adesanya shared it with his 1.7 million Twitter followers with the caption, "No Fugazi with Mark. This is serious business". Volkanovski retweeted the photo while renowned MMA journalist and reporter Ariel Helwani quote tweeted it, saying, "Dang, Zuck is ripped".
Another Twitter user commented, "I'm not even gonna meme about it Elon might actually die fighting this guy," while another tweeted, "Zuck is a beast. Would submit Elon in the first round easily."
Zuckerberg shared the photo with his 12 million followers on a collaboration post with Adesanya on Instagram, generating over 1.7 million likes in the process. The Meta owner commented, "It's an honor to train with you guys!"
To be honest, even if it wasn't an honor, Zuck would probably have said it was anyway, given that his two training partners of choice are two of the most terrifying professional fighters on the planet, right now.
Over on Twitter, meanwhile, Musk is tweeting things like "Zuck is a cu*k" and complaining about Meta "cheating" with their Threads app. So perhaps it's for the best that he puts this fight talk to bed.
