In totally normal news, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter owner Elon Musk have agreed to go head to head in a high-profile fight.
It all started earlier this month when the 51-year-old tech mogul responded to a Twitter thread mocking Zuckerberg, stating that he was "up for a cage fight" with him.
The tweet was a reply to an online user that said Musk's fellow businessman "does the jujitsu [sic] now," a reference to his recent medaling in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament.
On Wednesday (June 21) evening, the 39-year-old - who is also the founder of Instagram's parent company Meta - posted a screenshot of the Tesla chief executive's tweet with the caption "send me location".
Musk clearly didn't flinch as on Thursday (June 22), he named a location, cryptically writing "Vegas Octagon" - which is the iconic competition mat used for UFC bouts based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
While we don't know for sure if this is just banter between the two men - who have a combined net worth of $335 billion - a Meta spokesperson revealed to the BBC that Zuckerberg's Instagram story "speaks for itself".
The playful exchanges have gone viral with social media users debating who would win the bout. One user favoring Zuckerberg wrote: "Stop playing with Mark. I got him winning by knockout in the 2nd round."
Another person interjected: "Zucc is going to absolutely destroy him. The difference in age, skill, and athleticism makes this almost stupid."
However, one Twitter user backed the SpaceX boss by listing his attributes: "Musk is probably about 50 LBS heavier and at least 4 inches taller. I’m in. This would be one to watch. Zuck had the chops. Musk had the physical gifts."
Meanwhile, some people are just anticipating the showdown regardless of who succeeds as they quipped: "It's been a rough year I think we all deserve to see this."
As aforementioned, the tech billionaire competed in his first jiu-jitsu tournament in May, having trained with UFC prospects in the build-up. He shared pictures of the fight on Instagram, writing: "Competed in my first jiu-jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team."
In contrast, Musk claimed on Twitter that he does not exercise, penning: "I almost never work out, except for picking up my kids and throwing them in the air."
However, the plot thickened after he stated in a recent appearance on the Full Send podcast that he would aim to use his superior weight to defeat Zuckerberg.
"I have a move called 'The Walrus,' which I used on a friend of mine who's very agile," he said. "But I was like, let me explain to you why there are weight classes in MMA. I’m going to use a move called 'The Walrus,' where I just lie on you and you can’t get away."
Are you guys looking forward to the tech billionaires combating it out in the ring?
