Robert Irwin has turned back the clock as he has shared an almost identical video of himself getting bitten by the same species of snake that once bit his dad.
Steve Irwin was a legend – let's not beat around the bush about that. Not only did he entertain us, but he dedicated his life to the preservation of wildlife and their natural habitat.
It's almost impossible to not do an awful Australian accent when seeing a crocodile, as Steve's legacy well and truly lives on.
Following his tragic death in 2006 while filming Oceans Deadliest, Steve's family carried on his life's work and his son, Robert, has become something of a star himself.
Boasting 5.3 million followers on TikTok, and hundreds of thousands on other social media platforms, Robert works at Australia Zoo and definitely takes after his dad.
This has been demonstrated in a video that he uploaded to Twitter, which shows him shrugging off a nasty snake bite that the rest of us would be screaming at.
The video starts with a video of Steve holding a carpet python, which lunges and bites his face - but the constant professional that he was, he continues as if nothing happened.
Captioning the video, Robert wrote: "Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart. I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan."
As you can expect, that is exactly what happened as the video switches to Robert holding the same species of snake, and he gets bitten in a very similar manner.
Check out the video:Despite bleeding from a pretty nasty wound, the conservationist shrugs it off and even smiles at the camera as he jokes: "Luckily it didn't get my eyeball".
The image of Steve and Robert side by side with blood pouring down their face might not be framed and put on display in the family home, but it really shows how alike the father and son duo are.
If that's not enough to bring back waves of nostalgia, Robert recently shared a throwback image on his Instagram where he was behind the wheel of the same vehicle that his dad used to drive.
In the caption of the post, he penned: "My dad’s ute… it’s a special car. From early memories when Dad would park and let me pretend to drive, to more recently when I took my driver's test in it (and somehow managed not to stall it).
"I remember my first solo drive in this car after I got my license - it was to the hospital to meet my niece for the first time, right after she was born. And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…"
The first image shows a very young Robert sitting on his dad's lap in a car together, while the second shows him behind the wheel of the same car.
It's obvious that Steve would be incredibly proud of the man his son is turning out to be!
