Robert Irwin has paid tribute to his late father as he has recreated a childhood photo - leaving fans incredibly moved.
Robert, 19 - son of the late Steve Irwin - has taken over from his father as a much-loved crocodile tamer and all round great guy when it comes to the care of animals.
Steve Irwin, Robert's father, sadly lost his life in 2006 whilst filming for Oceans Deadliest. The beloved conservationist was pierced in the chest by a stingray, and despite paramedics doing their best, he passed away before reaching the hospital, per the Daily Mail.
The 19-year-old has recently taken to Instagram where he has shared a throwback image of himself and his late father in a car together, alongside a recently recreated image.
The first image shows a very young Robert sitting on his dad's lap in a car together, while the second shows him behind the wheel of the same car.
In the caption of the post, he penned: "My dad’s ute… it’s a special car. From early memories when Dad would park and let me pretend to drive, to more recently when I took my drivers test in it (and somehow managed not to stall it).
"I remember my first solo drive in this car after I got my license - it was to the hospital to meet my niece for the first time, right after she was born. And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…"
Viewers of the post have been understandably moved by the throwback image, especially as it's the same vehicle in both photographs.
"That’s pretty special mate. Would have felt like you were bringing the old man with you to meet the newest Irwin," one person penned.
A second added: "Wow that’s awesome that you’ve been able to keep his Ute and hopefully will be able to keep it for your kids to use one day. Absolutely amazing."
A third person said: "I'm not crying I've just got something in my eye."
While a fourth concluded: "I love this Robert. A vehicle is a huge emotional attachment when a loved one is lost. Seeing this ute to still be going is wonderful."
Who would have thought a car could make us so emotional?
