After rumors of an alleged rift between Selena Gomez and her long-time friend and kidney donor Francia Raísa became rife on social media, the 'Hands To Myself' singer has decided to speak out.

Taking to TikTok, Gomez hit back at the criticism for not mentioning Raísa's name when talking about her "industry friends" during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

The only name she did drop during the interview was fellow musician, Taylor Swift, who she has been friends with for well over a decade.

Many questioned why Gomez hadn't mentioned Raísa, after the latter selflessly gave the singer a kidney back in 2017 while she was facing serious health complications due to lupus.

"Did Taylor give her a kidney? For her to be her best friend..." one user wrote, referring to the comment made in the interview.

Another added: "That means a lot but that’s seems kinda disrespectful to the woman who donated her kidney to her."

But regardless of fan reaction, perhaps the most interesting part of this story is that it seems Raísa also noticed the discussion going on online.

After the quote was reposted to Instagram by E! News, she took to the comment section in a now-deleted response writing the word "interesting".

The comment stayed online for a little while before it suddenly vanished. However, it was screenshotted by several fans and publications.

After things started heating up online, Gomez finally responded to those who were calling her out.

In a video that was discussing the situation on TikTok, the singer left a stern comment writing: "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know."

However, her response did not sit well with a lot of people as they took to Twitter to drag the 'Lose You To Love Me' singer even further.

"If I was her [Raísa] I would've asked for my Kidney Back," tweeted one user.

"She literally gave her a kidney, she a little more than 'someone I know,'" commented another.

Others did jump to defend the 30-year-old though.

"She made it very obvious she was talking about the music industry so if certain people didn't understand that that's their problem, and they should privately talk to her about it," read a response.

"Some of y’all please never donate. Donating something isn’t for you [to] feel good about yourself and need credit for. It’s your choice to donate and that person isn’t in debt for the rest of their lives because you did that," user @swiftthenfall said.

The drama unfolded after the 30-year-old's new interview with Rolling Stone, where discussed her battles with mental health as well as her new Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me. During the interview, Gomez revealed that while she was struggling to deal with her mental health throughout her 20s, fellow musician Taylor Swift was there for her.

"I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities," she said. "My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong."

We're hoping this entire scandal has just been blown out of proportion (as things can be on the internet) and the two manage to work things out!
