A young cancer survivor was moved to tears after Tom Brady gifted him a Tampa Bay Buccaneers cap at a recent game.
The 44-year-old veteran quarterback had plenty to celebrate after last night's 38-3 win against the Chicago Bears.
But perhaps none as poignant as a particularly heartwarming encounter he had with a young spectator during the game.
Check out the moment below:Brady spotted the young Bucs fan in the crowd during the game on Sunday night. The youngster was holding up a sign that read: "Tom Brady helped me beat brain cancer."
So, the athlete went over to the stands to give the brave boy his Tampa Bay Buccaneers hat and shook his hand. And it's fair to say, it made for an unforgettable moment.
Out of sheer joy at the gesture, the boy could then be seen sobbing as he covered his face with his hands.
At the post-match press conference, Brady spoke about the heartwarming moment, saying: "That was really sweet. Obviously, tough kid, man. Puts a lot in perspective with what we're doing on the field.
"In the end, it doesn't mean much compared to what so many go through. We all try to make a difference in different ways and I think so many guys commit times to their foundations and to doing good things for the world."
"And the NFL does a lot of great things, so it's just nice to - I always think you know do the best that you can do, under any circumstance. It was nice to see," he added.
Needless to say, fans of the quarterback flocked to Twitter to praise him for the kind gesture, with one writing: "That's what a champ always do. God bless you more Tom Brady [sic]."
Another wrote: "Tom Brady just walked over to this little boy with :33 left in the game, handed him his hat and shook his hand… and the boy broke down in tears. Man, that one got me."
A third shared: "One more reason to respect Tom Brady. He is dedicated, committed, talented, and understands family and the things that are important in life. Thank you Tom Brady for being an inspiration!"
