Athletes take a risk every time they perform, pushing their bodies to the absolute limits. And yes, that includes professional wrestlers too. In the world of 'sports entertainment,' the matches are scripted and choreographed, but the risks they take take to pull off those thrilling moves are real. In 1999, D'lo Brown incorrectly executed a powerbomb, paralyzing Darren "Droz" Drozdov for life. (In a 2014 interview, Droz said, "I have no hard feelings toward D’Lo because sh*t happens and everyone who gets involved in athletics, including WWE, knows the risks that exist. It was an accident.")

Last Friday, Paul Levesque, better known as professional wrestler Triple H, performed at the pay-per-view event Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Critics claim that World Wrestling Entertainment should have cancelled the event, following the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, allegedly by the Saudi government. Yet the event on as planned. Triple H teamed up with his old Degeneration X partner, The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels to take on the Brothers of Destruction, Kane and The Undertaker.

During the match, 14-time world champion Triple H suffered an extremely painful injury, tearing his pectoral muscle. Before he prepares to undergo surgery, he shared a gruesome photo of the damage on Twitter. The graphic image shows a huge, dark red bruise covering nearly half of his chest. He managed to finish the match, hitting Kane with a pedigree and pinning The Big Red Machine. But I'm guessing when the adrenaline of match, wore off, the pain caught up to him. "Surgery in the AM... ...makes you stronger," 'The King of Kings' tweeted.

(Warning: This image is graphic, so you might not want to look at it while eating.)

Due to the surgery's lengthy recovery time, it's likely that Triple H will not be able to perform in Wrestlemania 35, the biggest night in sports entertainment. Rumor had it The Game was going to fight Batista, aka the actor Dave Bautista, now best known for his work as the hilarious Marvel superhero Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers: Infinity War. Wrestlemania 35 takes place on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in, New York City, and if 'The Cerebral Assassin' hasn't recovered, Batista will be getting a new rival.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley is 49 years old, and has been with the WWE for 25 years. In addition to being a "Attitude Era" star, he is the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative. After a storyline marriage to Stephanie McMahon in 1999, he legitimately married her in 2003, becoming a member of the famous McMahon family, who owns the majority WWE. He is also the founder and senior producer of NXT, a developmental brand for new wrestling talent.

Well, hopefully Triple H will recover quickly. There always will be more pay-per-view events, but you only get one body. Nobody knows that better than him, though. Recently he comforted 23-year-old WWE star Tegan Nox, after her knee "exploded" in the ring.
