A British broadcaster has premiered a heartbreaking documentary about the late Harry Potter star Rob Knox's murder.

Woodcut International has boarded (K)nox: The Rob Knox Story which will follow the tragic death of the 18-year-old actor, who was fatally stabbed in 2008, just days after filming his role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, per Variety.

The late actor played Marcus Belby, a member of the 'Slug Club' who Harry dines with, and ended up appearing in the beloved movie posthumously.

Knox was murdered by 22-year-old Karl Bishop - who was ultimately sentenced to 20 years in prison - in south-east London while protecting his younger brother.

The documentary - which is directed by Aaron Truss and exec-produced by Joe Acre - examines the issue of knife violence in the UK, and takes a closer look at the late teen's life before his sudden death, showing the police inquiry into the case and the eventual conviction of his killer.

In addition to this, the publication shared that the Rob Knox Foundation - which is a charity set up in the actor’s honor - produced the project alongside Nick Kenton and exec producer Koulla Anastasi for Woodcut International.

"We at the Rob Knox Foundation are extremely happy to be partnering with Woodcut International and look forward to our journey together," Truss said. "Not only have Woodcut been involved with some great documentaries like 'Damilola: Death of a Ten-Year-Old,' but they also understand the need for a film like this in today’s society."

"Knife crime especially in the U.K. is worse than ever, so we hope that this film will make an impact on people’s attitudes towards this horrific culture," he added.

Furthermore, the film includes interviews with castmates Jim Broadbent, Ray Winstone, and Tom Felton - as well as archive interviews with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

Before Knox's untimely passing, the actor had appeared in Keira Knightley's film King Arthur and had reportedly been signed up to continue his role as Marcus Belby in the Potter franchise.

Many of the franchise's actors - including Daniel Radcliffe - shared tribute statements regarding their co-star's death. According to Hello Magazine, the 33-year-old penned a heartwarming letter to him which read: "Dear Rob, We are all proud to have known you and devastated to have lost you. It is terrible just to write this note. Rest in peace, Dan xxx."

Rupert Grint also wrote a touching letter to his co-star, writing: "Rob, It was an honor to have known you and whenever I’m on the Southend strip I’ll be thinking of you. Rest in peace mate."
