An awkward video of Travis Scott's reaction to him going unnoticed in Japan has gone viral on social media.

In footage shared online, the 31-year-old rapper - whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II - was seen posing for pictures beside a Tokyo crosswalk.

Scott donned an oversized graphic hoodie as he stopped in the middle while locals tried to walk around him. He stood there for a while and even tried to join the group of people going about their day.

However, none of the locals in the Japanese capital seemed to recognize the 'Sicko Mode' rapper so he quickly scampered off with a smile on his face.

Watch the "embarrassing" moment below:

On Twitter, one user shared the video of the moment with an overlay text that read: "Travis Scott was surprised no one knew him in Japan," and captioned it: "This gotta be so embarrassing."

As of this writing, the footage has been viewed 13.1 million times and has 146.1K likes on the social media platform, with many users poking fun at the Astroworld rapper.

One user wrote: "Bro had a hoodie n errything tryna make a big reveal for it to backfire."

Another person jested: "Me in the whip screaming like 'BRO JUST GET BACK IN, LETS GO.. U EMBARRASSING US.'"

A third remarked: "The only western artists who could stand there and be recognized are Justin B, Ariana, Taylor, Rihanna and a few others. idk why he thought they’d know him when he doesn’t even have chart entries there, the secondhand embarrassment."

A fourth commented: "It’s so funny when these American stars be thinking just because they’re big in America they’re big everywhere."

Meanwhile, others gave him the benefit of the doubt and wrote that he is probably glad not to be mobbed by fans in public.

"He’s prob happy as hell to be able to walk around like a normal person for once," one user suggested, while another added: "It’s probably kind of nice to not be bombarded by fans."

Scott shares two children - daughter Stormi Webster, five, and son Aire Webster, one - with Kylie Jenner. The celebrity couple were in an on-and-off relationship since 2017, but most recently called it quits earlier this year.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder's sister, Kim Kardashian, was also spotted in Japan recently. Earlier this week, the 42-year-old reality TV star shared a series of pictures on social media of her vacation to Tokyo with her four children - North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, three.

The SKIMS mogul also posed for pictures at the hedgehog cafe with her daughter Chicago and matched with her two daughters in all-pink outfits while visiting Sanrio’s theme park Puroland in the capital city.
