Kim Kardashian has been heavily criticized after it was announced that her nine-year-old daughter North is planning to launch a skincare brand.

On March 10, the 42-year-old entrepreneur reportedly filed to obtain four trademarks on behalf of her daughter for a skincare line as well as a potential toy line.

As per The Sun, the first trademark is filed for "non-medicated skin preparations, skin moisturizers, skin lotions, skin creams, skin cleansers" which will also expand to: "Skin serums, facial oils, body oils, bath and shower gels, bubble bath, body powders, cosmetics, fragrances, hair care preparations."

The second one states that it covers "toy figures, doll accessories, dolls, drawing toys, infant toys, mechanical action toys, play sets for action figures, soft sculpture toys, bath toys," and more.

It was also reported that her toy company may also include: "Children's educational toys for developing fine motor and cognitive skills, musical toys, toy food, toy cookware, baby gyms, playground balls, and sport balls."

North's third trademark promises "advertising services" and her fourth includes "entertainment in the nature of providing information in means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment and pop culture."

The news of North's potential skincare line has not sat well with a lot of social media users, who have decided to slam Kim as an "exploiter."

"Kanye did all of that to protect his kids from Kim’s exploitation and look at her now exploiting north. THT LIL GIRL IS [9] starting a skin care line [and] ain’t even experience acne yet. S*** crazy," tweeted one user.

Another had a similar response, stating: "North West isn't even old enough to get her first pimple and Kim Kardashian is already getting trademarks for her SKIN CARE LINE. a nine year old with a skin care line. SHE IS 9 YEARS OLD."

A third stated that "someone needs to stop Kim" adding: "It’s not right what she’s doing to North. She’s 10 years old. Skin care?! The kid wants to paint and draw, let her be."

And these users were also less than impressed at the revelation.

"Kim Kardashian has announced that North West is coming out with skin care products for children... What do nine year old children know about skin care... When your nine you don’t have skin care issues this woman will do anything to try and stay relevant," wrote this user while another also agreed that the idea was "crazy."

However, not everyone was opposed to the idea.

Reposing the news of the trademark, which was shared on Twitter by Pop Base, one user compared the idea to Korean skincare trends.

"If I’m not mistaken, Korean beauty practices begin at a really young age," they wrote. "Also, with lots of kids growing up on skincare/tutorial content, North probably wants to use products that her mom uses... Kim recognizes an opportunity. I’m not mad it."

And another user stated that it "actually makes sense," adding: "Skincare applies to all ages. Kim serves a completely different demographic than north right now. moreover, skincare is more than just treating acne. using, most likely, the same factory that makes KKW Skin to create her daughter’s own brand is smart."

This isn't the first time we've seen the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star file trademarks on behalf of her children.

Back in November 2022, the 42-year-old filed a total of 12 trademarks on behalf of her son Psalm covering a range of different industries including skincare, probiotics, baby diapers, jewelry, and books.

It doesn't stop there; they also cover purses, wallets, home furnishings, and toys.

Kim also did the same for her two middle children, Chicago and Saint who both acquired trademarks for fashion and toy lines.

The Sun previously reported that the entire Kardashian-Jenner crew plans on sharing their 3 billion dollar fortune with all of their children in order to continue the family's legacy and this is clearly how the transfer begins.
