Following Brendan Fraser's incredible win at last night's Critics' Choice Awards, a video of his emotional reaction has gone viral on social media.
The night saw a whole host of epic moments at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, ranging from Chelsea Handler's hilarious monologue to Niecy Nash-Betts' bad-ass acceptance speech.
But one moment that stood out amongst the rest was Brendan Fraser's 'best actor' victory for his role as Charlie in The Whale.
The 54-year-old immediately broke down in tears when his name was called out before heading to the stage to give the audience, as well as thousands of viewers watching at home, an incredibly moving speech about hard work and dedication.
"'There are only five critics in America; the rest are asleep,'" the Journey to the Center of the Earth alum started - citing the iconic quote by Herman Melville. "I don’t know what it means either, but I’m so glad you woke up for me," he said to laughter from the audience.
"This movie, The Whale, it’s about love, it’s about redemption," he continued. "It’s about finding the light in a dark place and I’m so lucky to have worked with an ensemble that is incredible."
Fraser then gave shoutouts to his fellow co-stars, thanking Hong Chau, Sadie Sink, Sam Hunter, and Ty Simpkins for their work alongside him.
He also credited Darren Aronofsky, the director of the psychological drama, for his support throughout the process.
"I was in the wilderness, and I probably should have left a trail of breadcrumbs, but you’ve found me. And like all the best directors, you merely just showed me where to go to get to where I needed to be," he said.
The actor concluded his speech with what was described as a "powerful message."
"If you, like a guy like Charlie, who I played in this movie, in any way, struggle with obesity, or you just feel like you’re in a dark sea. I want you to know that if you too, can have the strength to just get to your feet and go to the light.
"Good things will happen."
In the wake of his victory, a video of the Bedazzled star has recently gone viral which shows him and his loved ones reacting to the initial news of the win.
The 54-second clip was reposted to Twitter by @FilmUpdates and has since been viewed over 1.7 million times.
In the video, you can clearly see Fraser and those around him nervously listening on and as soon as his name is called out, they all jump up with joy, cheering for the actor, who looked moved to tears.
Hundreds of comments poured in after watching the moment, with many fans expressing their happiness for the actor.
"Why am I emotional," asked one user.
"I'm so happy for you, Brendan!" added another
"Very well deserved fr also Ke Huy Quan grabbing him happily and giving him a hug," pointed out a third.
