By now you've probably heard that not everybody was thrilled with the last season of Game of Thrones. While the quality had slowly been dwindling ever since the end of season five, it was only at season eight when things took a nosedive, and as a result, there were plenty of fans left dissatisfied.
The character beats all made sense on paper, but the rushed nature of those final six episodes left us feeling rather cold, and there were so many plot threads left unresolved. We've talked ad nauseam about Daenerys' turn into a toasty murderer, or how on earth Bran ended up as king, but we've rarely talked about Cersei Lannister, or the plot point we kind of forgot about...
Of course, one of the big developments of season seven was that Cersei and Jaime were expecting another child together - and in between scenes where the Queen would strategically rub her belly in order to gain sympathy - it was expected that the unborn Lannister child would play a big role in the final season, especially since she told Euron Greyjoy that the baby was his. Drama!
And by the time this happens, it's all been forgotten about:

We didn't even know that Cersei was actually pregnant at the time, as faking a pregnancy would be a typical thing for her to do to manipulate those around her, and unfortunately, things got... rocky for her before we could find out what really happened. But speaking at a panel during Munich Comic Con, Lena Headey shone a light on what really happened.
Apparently, there was a scene cut from season seven which would have had the Queen miscarry, landing a cruel double blow since it was around the same time Jaime decided to head north to Winterfell ahead of the arrival of the Army of the Dead (I mean, we know how that turned out).
"A scene that never made it into Season 7, which was when I lose the baby," said Headey at Munich Comic Con. "And it was a really traumatic, great moment for Cersei and it never made it in, and I loved doing that because I thought it would have served her differently."
Here's Lena Headey, explaining how Cersei Lannister's pregnancy would have been resolved:

This makes us see her actions in season eight in a new light; blinded by depression, we can more easily buy her decision to murder Missandei when Tyrion tells her to "think of her child" (that must have really stung). You could also see her depression and loneliness driving her to sleep with Euron Greyjoy, even though he's the worst, and she (like everyone) hates him.
It wouldn't have been enough to save the disastrous final season, but this revelation shines a kinder light on Cersei Lannister - one of the best character on Game of Thrones.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die - that's according to Cersei Lannister, anyway, and she's proven to have basically been right so far.
Over the past eight years, we've watched helplessly as our favourite characters have been hacked, burnt, and even squished to death, and - with the last season only a matter of months away - there really aren't that many contenders left for the iron throne.
Cersei herself is still in the running, of course, as are her two Lannister brothers, but are any of them likely to be ruling over the seven kingdoms by the time season eight is over? And what about the Stark siblings - might they have a shot at claiming Westeros as their own? Or perhaps a complete outsider could swoop in and steal the title? (Personally, I think Brienne would look *fabulous* with a crown atop her head).
Well, we still have a while until we find out for sure, but, in the meantime, one person's boss has made an epic prediction sheet for employees to stake their bets on how the frontrunners of the long-running series will end up.
The sheet has the names of 27 characters, along with three options for each: will they end up dead, alive, or as a white walker? Entrants are instructed to pick an option for each character, and can only mark a person as a white walker if they also mark them as dead (duh). For every correct prediction, they gain a point. For every incorrect walker prediction, they lose a point.
And then comes the more interesting part - the bonus questions.
Now, I'm a pretty big fan of the series, but Game of Thrones is notorious for its plot twists, so guessing the outcome is almost an impossibility at this point. However, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Daenerys isn't pregnant, The Mountain kills the Night King (only because a zombie vs zombie fight would be so cool), and that Bran holds the iron throne (because then poor Hodor won't have died for nothing).
While we still don't know a lot about what's going to happen in the end, we do have a few hints from cast members about the final outcome.
"People have come up with so many fan theories about how it’s going to end, and who will end up where, and who will end up with who," said Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark. "It really is so unpredictable the way that it ends up. I’m very satisfied with that, and I think that the fans will be satisfied with that, too."
Meanwhile, Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, said that filming season eight was a gruelling experience: "Everyone was broken at the end. I don't know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so f*****g tiring. We were sleep deprived."
With only a few months to go now, the whispers about who wins and who dies are getting louder and louder - and April can't come soon enough.

Game of Thrones is known for its shocking twists and brutal death scenes, but some of the ways characters were offed this season didn't satisfy the fans that have stuck with the series for so long.
Most people were focused on Daenerys, whose slow stroll into rage-fuelled madness accelerated into a full-on gallop in season eight, episode five.
Here's the moment Daenerys turned to the dark side:

But that wasn't the only thing people were upset about. There was also Jaime, who left Brienne the same night they finally got together, only to head all the way back to King's Landing to meet up with Cersei and save her from the violence.
Along the way, he ran afoul of Euron Greyjoy, in a brutal fight that wasn't too popular either. After he killed the would-be king, sustaining a fatal wound himself, he staggered through the capital until he found his sister/love-of-his-life and helped her escape. But as it turned out, escaping wasn't on the cards - with the two of them perishing as the ceiling collapsed on them both.
Here's that dramatic death scene. Does it satisfy you?:

The death was pretty controversial, with many hoping that Arya would get to fulfil her wish to take down Cersei after all these years being on her kill list. Most felt that it would be a dark twist if it was Jaime who had to kill the Queen. Others wanted it to be Daenerys, who was otherwise occupied torching the citizens of the city.
Mostly, people just wanted her to go in a more grand way than she did.

Any of the cast members who are using social media at all probably know that season eight hasn't been going down too well with fans lately, with some even signing a petition to have it remade.
Now that nearly a week has passed, people are getting even more cavalier about the spoilers, with Lena Headey even recreating her own death on Instagram in a hilarious fashion.
See the actress recreate her death with a very funny twist:

"The more we talked about it the more it seemed like the perfect end for her," the actress said of her last moments in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this week. "They [Jaime and Cersei] came into the world together and now they leave together."
Whether she's doing this to make fun of an ending she also thinks was lackluster is up for debate, but it is pretty funny either way.

If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you may be wondering why you feel like something is missing from your life. That feeling is the gap where a new season of Game of Thrones usually goes, one that we haven't seen this year. Normally you can bet on a new season being completed and released to the public within a year, but this time we weren't so lucky.
Seeing as next year's season will be the last, they are taking even longer to perfect the undoubtedly action-packed finale to the hit fantasy series. Adding that much time between seasons means that obsessive fans have even more time to concoct fan theories or get a hold of what's being kept secret on set, so the production is justifiably playing it as safe as possible.

With the second annual Con of Thrones happening in Texas, some cast members have been on hand for interviews, including the likes of Joe Dempsie (Gendry) and Hannah Murray (Gilly). One of the topics broached recently was the idea that Game of Thrones may be filming multiple endings to avoid spoilers getting out into the world.
When Murray was asked about it, she said that she "was not under the impression that there were multiple endings," but admitted that she "could be being fooled".

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, has expressed his doubts over potential multiple endings in the past. In an interview with Marie Claire, he said:
"It seems really stupid to me. I mean if it’s true I don’t believe it, but I don’t know, maybe. I mean, I haven’t read the script, so unless they will show several endings that could be a twist, they’re not going to waste that money.
"They know how expensive it is to shoot. You’re not going to waste $100,000 a day to shoot something you’re not going to use. It’s not going to happen."
When he puts it that way, it doesn't sound too believable, does it?
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BUpdPtmgQpB/?hl=en&taken-by=nikolajwilliamcw]]
However, there are definitely ways in which the production is amping up their security, according to the actor.
Coster-Waldau was recently in France, where he was attending the Cannes Film Festival. It was at Cannes that he had an interview about the show, explaining that the response to previous scripts being leaked online before the episode airs is even stricter rules.
"They’re very very strict. It’s reached a crazy level this year. We actually get the scripts, and then when we’ve shot the scene — and we only have it digitally — and then when you’ve done the scene, it just vanishes. It’s like Mission: Impossible. 'This will self-destruct.'"
So, it's like Snapchat for scripts? Sounds like a smart idea to me.
[[youtubewidget||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoW5S9iFgOo]]
"I also know that we end the right way and the show ends on its own terms. When I read the scripts for the last season, I was like, ‘Wow, they really pulled it off.’ It’s one story from season 1 to 9 and it makes sense."
Coster-Waldau has been involved with the Game of Thrones project longer than most, filming an eventually-unused pilot for the show all the way back in 2009. I'm sure he'll be happy to leave it all behind, even if he'll still have fans shouting "Jamie!" at him in the street.
