For foodie fans of Harry Potter, there was only one room at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that really mattered. Sure, the Gryffindor common room had its charms, and the Room of Requirement was pretty pivotal to the plot, but when it came to made up magic food, it was all about the Great Hall. Lavish descriptions of first night feasts, lashings of pumpkin juice and enough dinner to sink a Hungarian Horntail left hungry Potter heads everywhere with rumbling tummies and dreams of chocolate frogs.

Sadly, fantasies about slicing off hunks of house elf-cooked roast beef are just that - a fantasy. Even if you’re the world’s most enthusiastic cosplayer, actually sitting down for a meal at Hogwarts has remained firmly beyond the realms of possibility. That is, until Warner Bros. Studio announced that they were throwing open the doors of the world’s most famous wizard school and putting on a spread.
As part of the company’s Hogwarts After Dark series of events, guests at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford will be able to sit down for a specially prepared two course meal, complete with cocktails, canapes and Death Eaters. Guests will also be able to sample the wizarding world’s legendary Butterbeer as they enjoy an access all areas tour of the facility and get an inside look at the making of Harry Potter.

According to a report in The Sun, guests will dine under 100 floating pumpkins, before “seeing famous Harry Potter movie sets such as the Forbidden Forest, the Gryffindor common room and Diagon Alley.” The tour continues, including an opportunity to duel with Death Eaters, courtesy of Wand Choreographer Paul Harris. The experience concludes with dessert in the Forbidden Forest, accompanied by Buckbeak the hippogriff and Aragog the acromantula.

Understandably, availability for an experience as immersive as this is strictly limited. The events will only run on the evenings of 25th, 26th and 26th of October, and there are only 260 tickets per event. At £240, the experience certainly doesn’t come cheap. However, for a proper Potter fan, it’s difficult to imagine anything much more exciting.

How much do you love Harry Potter? Like, honestly, how much? Enough to wait 10 hours in a queue to go on a boy wizard-themed ride?
While many fans would think "screw that" and turn to their bookshelf to re-read the books for the 1,693,031st time, other fans at the grand opening of Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure had way more dedication.
Yesterday, after waiting two years for its construction, people reportedly waited in a 10-hour queue to ride the $300 million new addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.

The ride takes book-and-movie-lovers into the Forbidden Forest with the loveable Hogwarts gamekeeper himself. The whole experience takes roughly three-minutes - but people are waiting up to 600 minutes just to get on it.
The Universal Orlando website has cautioned excited park attendees that demand is high, and the attraction may reach capacity for the day they are visiting - but it's likely no one thought the wait would be this long!
According to Mashable, determined fans arrived as early as 6am to claim a spot in the line, with the park not even opening until 9am. By sunrise, the queue had stretched well beyond Hogsmeade and into other parts of the sprawling Islands of Adventure - a distance that roughly makes up a mile, with many people standing in direct sunlight.

Ohio native Brian A. told Mashable he arrived at 5.30 and knew a friend "lurking" near the entrance from 2am; they got on the ride by 10am, but they were among the first few hundred people in line.
According to local ABC outlet WFTV, the estimated waiting time was eight hours by 8.30am, and 10 hours by 10 am, with some fans starting to give up.
Thankfully, starting Friday, the park will be using a virtual queue so that fans won’t have to wait around in a lengthy line and will be alerted when it is time for them to return to the queue.
So, are you that Potty for Potter? Or would you be like me and head for a pint at the Leaky Cauldron at the first sign of a 10-hour queue?

Potter-heads and Netflix users, your time has come!
Yes, it is time to dust off the Sorting Hat and wave your wands in magical glee as 17.
Oh, and don't worry about having to wait days, weeks, or even months to once again enter the Wizarding World, because it is happening TOMORROW.
This is not a drill, people! The Philosopher's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, and both Deathly Hallows movies are dropping on Wednesday, May 17.
However - and this is where I disappoint a good number of you - the movies are only dropping for subscribers in the UK and Ireland.
Tweeting on Tuesday from the official Netflix UK & Ireland account, the streaming platform announced: "All 8 Harry Potter films come to Netflix UK/IE tomorrow!!"
And, as you'd probably expect from Harry Potter fans (ever the cool, calm, and collected bunch), the response was nothing but pure joy.
"I’m in heaven," one person tweeted in response, and another joked: "WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I WAS HUNGOVER ON THURSDAY?!"
A third commented: "It might be time for a binge watch on my day off."
The wildly popular movies - based on the books written by J. K. Rowling - captivated audiences all over the world, and went on to gross a monumental $7.75 billion (if you add together each movie's box office total).
They spawned a wave of fan fiction, spin-off movies/books, a stage show, theme parks, merchandise, and more!
And this news also comes as HBO Max and Discovery+ recently announced that a Harry Potter TV series is on the way.
Watch the announcement below:The two companies have combined to create a new service called Max, and during a press release they stated the new series will be "a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer, J.K. Rowling."
While revealing that the series will span over the course of a decade, Max has vowed to produce it in a way that honors the books and what Harry Potter fans have come to love over the years.
Given that the announcement trailer involves the original movie score and Hogwarts looks the way we know it, it would seem that the series will be faithful to the movies and books.
"We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way," the CEO of HBO and Max content, Casey Bloys said in a press release. "Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros."
So, I'm off to book tomorrow as annual leave, mentally prepare myself before I eat my body weight in Bertie Bots Every Flavour Beans, and start homebrewing my own Butter Beer - because there's no way I'm leaving my sofa tomorrow.
