Isn't it exciting when a celebrity gets a new love interest? It is, isn't it? Isn't it just thrilling when someone you don't know and who doesn't care about your existence, gets romantically linked with someone? Man, I just can't think of anything that peaks my interest more.
Well luckily for me - and you, I imagine - we have another celebrity love story. Jennifer Lawrence, yes, Jennifer Lawrence, the 27-year-old actress known for her roles in the Hunger Games among many other movies, has landed herself a new man. That's right, folks, J Law is a taken lady!
So, who is the lucky chap? Well, surprisingly, he's not anybody famous. I know, right? Weird. The world of celebrity dating is usually a pretty incestuous place, with the majority of famous people only dating other famous people. But, J Law, much like Adele, has shown that status doesn't mean everything and has hooked herself up with a regular dude... kind of.
You see, not only is Jen's new man a successful art dealer in New York - meaning he is probably pretty loaded - but he also has a completely ridiculous name that makes me think that he doesn't exist: Cooke Maroney.
Maroney (if he is real) currently works as a director at New York's Gladstone Gallery. The prestigious gallery reps artists including Lena Dunham‘s dad, Carroll Dunham, as well as Richard Prince, Anish Kapoor, Ugo Rondinone and Bjork’s ex, Matthew Barney.
The lovebirds were introduced to each other by someone with a much more ordinary name: Laura Simpson. A source told Page Six that “they met through Jen’s friend Laura … The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together.”
Lawrence has been linked with several men across the last year or so and recently split from director Darren Aronofsky in November due to the fact that they were "at different places in their lives." Despite the split, the duo have remained close friends and she even presented him with an award at BAM last week. Before Darren, Jen was linked to Chris Martin and fellow actor Nicholas Hoult.
According to reports, Maroney is 33 and can be regularly be found at high-end art openings around town. He's not the first art dealer to be linked to an A-lister in recent times, with it being rumoured that Amber Heard is currently dating Vito Schnabel, an art dealer who was previously linked to Heidi Klum.
One man who will be devastated by the news is John Mayer. The guitarist appeared on Andy Cohen this week and said: “Jennifer Lawrence … just doesn’t want anything to do with me.”
Sorry, but with a name like Cooke Maroney, I'm not buying that this guy is real. In my mind, it's more than likely that Lawrence has made him up in order to stop creepy guys - and John Mayer - from actively pursuing her. Better luck next time, gents.

At any event as big and important as the Oscars, something is bound to go wrong. This could be anything from a celebrity acting a little too drunk and disorderly, to an interviewer saying the wrong thing on the red carpet, or even the wrong winner being read out in front of millions of people.
And, as we all know from 2017's confusion, that last option can be incredibly awkward. During the ceremony, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty mistakenly announced La La Land as the winner of the Best Picture award, only for the film's producer, Fred Berger, to step up to the mic and say, "We lost, by the way."
Thankfully, there were no major mess-ups this time around. But that didn't stop Jennifer Lawrence from trolling her best friend Emma Stone about last year's gaffe.
Stone was one of the main stars of La La Land and was left incredibly embarrassed last year when she rushed up to the stage only to find out that she hadn't won the award at all. Jimmy Kimmel, who was hosting the Oscars this year, cracked a joke about this when he said, "This year, when you hear your name called, don't get up right away. Give us a minute."
As the audience laughed, the camera panned to Stone to catch her reaction. What it captured instead, however, was Lawrence literally pointing and laughing right in her face.
The moment was then immortalized almost immediately when it went viral on Twitter, with many people joking that Lawrence is the one "a**hole friend" that all of us have.

But Lawrence's giggly fun didn't end there. The 27-year-old Red Sparrow star was also seen giving a real performance on the red carpet, posing for pictures by throwing her arms up in the air and dancing around in front of other stars. Later on, she was later spotted climbing over chairs while clutching a large glass of wine as she attempted to find some of her Hollywood pals to sit with.
When it came to presenting the award for Best Actress, she roasted Meryl Streep on stage with Jodie Foster, who was on crutches during the ceremony.
The pair joked that Streep was responsible for Foster's injuries, with the Silence of the Lambs actress saying, "But you know, I prefer not to discuss it."
Lawrence then added jokingly, "No, it’s cool, you know she tripped me once."
Despite her poking fun, though, it appears that Lawrence is a great friend. She and Stone have been spotted hanging out on various occasions, and famously ditched the Golden Globes afterparty in order to have a chill evening together.
Neither actress won any awards this time around, but both of them were given the privilege of presenting one. Stone caused a little controversy when it came to handing out the Oscar for best director, as she introduced the nominees as "four men and Greta Gerwig," but most people saw the funny side.
Perhaps they'll have a shot at winning something next year; but, even if they don't, it seems like they're perfectly happy to just have the chance to spend time together.

Jennifer Lawrence is one of those celebrities that you can't help but like. Whether it's her often hilarious, if not slightly blunt, responses to stupid questions or her put-downs of disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein - Lawrence certainly appears to have her head screwed on.
Much like the majority of A-listers, Lawrence's private life is constantly the source of speculation and hearsay. She has been linked with a host of different men - including Chris Pratt, Chris Martin and, of course, Darren Aronofsky.
Lawrence and Aronofsky were reportedly dating for around a year and the star admits that she really struggled with the initial break-up. However, luckily for her, she had her friends (particularly Amy Schumer) around to look after her.

“When Darren and I first broke up. I told [Schumer] and I was really sad,” Lawrence recalled during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Despite her heartbreak, the Red Sparrow star, 27, revealed the hilarious way in which Schumer tried to cheer her up after her break with Aronofsky,49.
“The next day I got a bouquet of flowers delivered and I said, ‘What is this?’” she said. “I bring the bouquet of flowers in and there was a note that says, ‘I’m so sorry to hear you’re gonna die alone. Love, Amy.’ ”

Lawrence and Aronofsky made their public debut as a couple at the Venice Film Festival photocall of Mother! The duo worked together on the movie, with Aronofsky directing it and Lawrence starring in the film. Despite the 22-year age gap, they began dating in September 2016, shortly after the production of the movie finished.
Lawrence first talked about their blossoming romance back in August 2017. In an interview with Vogue, she said that she was drawn to the director after meeting him on the set of the movie.
“We had energy,” she said. “I had energy for him. I don’t know how he felt about me. I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.”
“I normally don’t like Harvard people, because they can’t go two minutes without mentioning that they went to Harvard,” she continued. “He’s not like that.”

Then, in late February, Lawrence discussed that in a set meeting with Aronofsky, she felt "sexual tension" between the pair.
“He flew in, pitched me, left. The whole thing was probably an hour and a half, and then I was like, he’s hot,” she told comedian Marc Maron on his podcast.
“I remember I was holding my dog and I shut the door and when the door shut I went, ‘Pippy that’s called sexual tension.’ He played hard to get for like nine months, maybe longer, which just killed me,” she said.
Adding, “I mean, I was in love with him for like, two years. I still love him very much.”
So, while she may seem like she isn't human at times, it turns out J-law is just like the rest of us - she needs her mates to play a trash joke on her in order to help her through a breakup.

Jennifer Lawrence has been applauded by viewers for her heartwarming reaction to Emma Stone winning at the 2024 Golden Globes.

Stone and Lawrence have been friends for many years and owe their longstanding relationship to mutual costar Woody Harrelson, who worked with Stone in 2009's Zombieland and worked with Lawrence on the Hunger Games movies.
"[Stone] texted me that she got my number from Woody," the American Hustle actress told Vanity Fair in a 2016 cover story. "I replied, F*** off!' And we’ve been really good friends ever since."
The Easy A actress told the outlet that her ego initially went "nuts" over hanging out with Lawrence, sharing: "I was like, 'She’s so great and vibrant and talented. I’m screwed, I’ll never work again,'"
"Then I chilled the f*** out and remembered we’re completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it’s an industry that doesn’t really seem to support that idea up front," she continued.
"We both really do love each other and care about each other as people, beyond being actors. I support her completely when it comes to work and I feel the same from her, but I know we’d be friends even if we didn’t do the same job," Stone added.
