Jennifer Lawrence is one of those celebrities that you can't help but like. Whether it's her often hilarious, if not slightly blunt, responses to stupid questions or her put-downs of disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein - Lawrence certainly appears to have her head screwed on.

Much like the majority of A-listers, Lawrence's private life is constantly the source of speculation and hearsay. She has been linked with a host of different men - including Chris Pratt, Chris Martin and, of course, Darren Aronofsky.

Lawrence and Aronofsky were reportedly dating for around a year and the star admits that she really struggled with the initial break-up. However, luckily for her, she had her friends (particularly Amy Schumer) around to look after her.

“When Darren and I first broke up. I told [Schumer] and I was really sad,” Lawrence recalled during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Despite her heartbreak, the Red Sparrow star, 27, revealed the hilarious way in which Schumer tried to cheer her up after her break with Aronofsky,49.

“The next day I got a bouquet of flowers delivered and I said, ‘What is this?’” she said. “I bring the bouquet of flowers in and there was a note that says, ‘I’m so sorry to hear you’re gonna die alone. Love, Amy.’ ”

Lawrence and Aronofsky made their public debut as a couple at the Venice Film Festival photocall of Mother! The duo worked together on the movie, with Aronofsky directing it and Lawrence starring in the film. Despite the 22-year age gap, they began dating in September 2016, shortly after the production of the movie finished.

Lawrence first talked about their blossoming romance back in August 2017. In an interview with Vogue, she said that she was drawn to the director after meeting him on the set of the movie.

“We had energy,” she said. “I had energy for him. I don’t know how he felt about me. I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.”

“I normally don’t like Harvard people, because they can’t go two minutes without mentioning that they went to Harvard,” she continued. “He’s not like that.”

Then, in late February, Lawrence discussed that in a set meeting with Aronofsky, she felt "sexual tension" between the pair.

“He flew in, pitched me, left. The whole thing was probably an hour and a half, and then I was like, he’s hot,” she told comedian Marc Maron on his podcast.

“I remember I was holding my dog and I shut the door and when the door shut I went, ‘Pippy that’s called sexual tension.’ He played hard to get for like nine months, maybe longer, which just killed me,” she said.

Adding, “I mean, I was in love with him for like, two years. I still love him very much.”

So, while she may seem like she isn't human at times, it turns out J-law is just like the rest of us - she needs her mates to play a trash joke on her in order to help her through a breakup.
