A bride-to-be has had the excitement of planning a wedding dented as she realized what her initials will be if she takes her future husband's last name.
Getting married is - usually - a time of joy as a happy couple plans the celebrations of what is likely to be one of the biggest days of their life.
Often the bride-to-be will take the husband's last name - though this seems to be done less and less as society progresses and moves away from traditionalist norms.
However, if Kathryn, who posts under @keiththebride on TikTok decides to adopt her partner's last name, it will give her initials with an incredibly sinister meaning.
Posting an initially cryptic video, the bride-to-be wrote over a video of herself looking concerned: "When I tell people what my initials after my wedding will be..."
The caption of the video instructed confused viewers to look at her profile to find out what her initials would be, but she also posted a follow-up video explaining.
With Kathryn being her first name, and her future husband having the surname Keith, it was revealed that her middle name is Keller, leaving her initials to be KKK.
For those unsure why this is a problem, the letters KKK are often used for the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist group who were responsible for horrific hate crimes, and that exists on a much smaller scale today.
Kathryn revealed to viewers that this is a horrific set of circumstances and that she has considered changing her middle name, but she is struggling to work out what to change it to.
Viewers of the video were equally mortified, with one person saying: "omg... are u gonna change ur middle name / if so, have u decided to what?"
Some were on hand to offer solutions, with someone suggesting: "If middle name is Keller, what about Ellery or Elle to keep as many letters similar as possible?"
A third person added: "Change it to Eller! Just remove the K and it still kind of sounds the same."
If all else fails, she might just have to ditch the middle initial entirely and go by Katherine Keith instead - or come up with something completely different.
It's certainly an unfortunate position to be in, and hopefully, it'll be resolved by the big day!

TikTok creator Izzy Trimborn recently took to social media with a video that highlights a very real concern: What happens when your partner’s last name is too embarrassing to adopt?
Trimborn, who is engaged to her fiancé James, shared a post that quickly went viral with more than 2.4 million views.
... And let's just say that her fiancé's last name wouldn't pair too well with her first name.
The video featured Izzy answering the question: "Aren’t you excited to take his last name?" to which she jokingly responded, “Not really."
The reason is that her partner, James, has a surname that would result in an X-rated phrase.
You see, his surname is Inyet.
If the penny hasn't dropped yet, just repeat the name "Izzy Inyet" before it starts to make sense.
Her humorous take quickly resonated with TikTok users, and the clip was flooded with comments from people who found the name combination absolutely hilarious.
One person wrote: "I’m sorry, but this is brilliant, the best one yet."
Another chimed in: "You won the trend hands down."
Several others shared their amusement, with one viewer admitting: "I’ve just thrown myself off my bed with laughter."
The video quickly became a sensation, with many imagining all the awkward moments Izzy might face in public when someone calls out "Izzy Inyet" at a coffee shop or during a doctor’s visit.
Izzy’s viral moment was just the tip of the iceberg as other TikTok users jumped on the trend, sharing their own potential name combinations that could be equally awkward.
Many of these name mashups provided endless entertainment for viewers, who found humor in the unintentional innuendos and absurd combinations.
One user named Hannah Rose revealed that if she took her boyfriend’s last name, her full name would be Hannah Rose Hiscock, a combination that, unsurprisingly, had fans in stitches.
Another TikTok user, Jo, shared that her new name would be Jo Kerr, sounding remarkably like "Joker".
Meanwhile, Sophie confessed that taking her partner’s surname would lead her to become Sophie Brophy - a name too funny to ignore.
Then there was Millie Waters, who shared that if she married her boyfriend Harvey Willy, her name would become Millie Willy.
The thought of introducing herself as “Millie Willy” was enough to make viewers imagine awkward social scenarios, such as booking a restaurant reservation or attending a job interview.
One user quipped: "Imagine calling a restaurant to book a table and they just hang up because they think 'Millie Willy' is a prank."
Another comment added: "Imagine going for a job interview, 'What’s your name?' 'Millie Willy.' 'Please leave.'"
However, these women don't need to adopt their partners names if they don't want to.
A YouGov poll in the UK revealed that only 35% of women aged 18 to 34 plan to adopt their husband’s surname, showing a marked decline in the tradition among younger women.
The same poll found that, while 51% of women overall preferred the traditional surname change, only 27% of men were open to taking their wife’s surname, with many Britons showing indifference towards this role reversal.
Meanwhile, the practice of double-barrelled surnames remains relatively rare, with only 6% of people opting for this compromise.

A bride-to-be has sparked a debate online after she revealed that she's not taking her husband's last name.
Claudia, who goes by @partygirlclauds on TikTok, took to the video-sharing platform to share the reasons why she's refusing to take her husband's last name after she gets married to him this summer.
"I'm getting married in August and I'm not changing my name," she said in the video posted earlier on in the year. "Aside from the fact that women don't even have their own last names, we either have our father's last name or our husband's... And that's carried on through our children."
She continued: "I asked him one simple question: 'Would you change your name for me?'"
The Australian content creator then told her followers that he replied with "No, I love my name," and for her, that was a "done deal."
"I'm not changing my name [because] I'm the last person in my family to carry my name and I'm not going to change it to something I don't like - I don't even like his last name."
Claudia then said that she has already considered options for their future children, stating that she and her soon-to-be husband have agreed on hyphenating both their names.
"I want my name to carry and I want his name to carry."
She went on to conclude the video by advising other women not to change their last names just because it's a "tradition."
The 48-second clip, which has now been viewed over 488 thousand times, got thousands of responses from other TikTokers.
"I saw recently someone said tradition is peer pressure from dead people," said one user, while another added: "There’s a story abt [sic] a doctor who didn’t change it & when they asked her why she said 'he didn’t go to med school for me to be known by his name.'"
"Say it LOUDER," agreed another TikToker.
This user had a whole different approach to it stating: "My husband took my last name."
We love!
Others agreed but didn't like the idea of hyphenated names.
"Agree but don’t hyphenate kids names. Just pick the name that sounds best," this user advised.
"From a child with a hyphenated last name please don’t do that to your kids," warned another.
Others disagreed with the stance, stating that they were more than happy to take their husband's last name.
"I’m changing mine... I love my partners last name," said one.
"Left my name behind... love everything about my husband including his last name and family," this user commented under the clip.
"Only want to get married to change my last name jks (& to have the same Surname as our kids)," another added.
One user even suggested that Claudia didn't "love" her partner enough to change her name, but thankfully this was quickly shut down by other users who jumped into the content creator's defense.
What's your opinion on the issue?

A newly married woman has been getting warnings from TikTok users after she shared some of her wedding photos.
Heather - also known by her TikTok handle @heatherlynn6977 - sparked an intense reaction on the video-sharing platform after she posted a 27-second clip showing everyone what were supposed to be cute snapshots from her big day.
But commenters believe the photos show something else altogether.
At first glance, the photos seem like love wedding photos; Heather looks amazing in her dress, and her loved ones look to be having a good time, all the usual things you'd expect from a wedding...
But then, we reach the group photos and that's when things took a turn.
Check out the clip below:Upon looking closely at the groom, the new wife sees a hand linking her husband's arm, and in the next photo, that same hand appears to be hovering over his crotch, before the final photo shows the pair now holding hands.
Alongside the shots, Heather wrote: "Getting your wedding photos back and [you] notice something..." before light-heartedly ending with "Guess I’m getting a sister wife."
For those of you that might not be aware, the term "sister-wife" is a polygamous term that refers to any of the women married to the same man.
But in the caption and subsequent videos, Heather clarified that the bridesmaid in question - known as "Shirls" - was simply nervous and became unstable in her heels after being asked to perform some fun poses.
Watch the full clip below:However, that did not stop TikTokers from running to her comment section to offer their thoughts on the fiasco.
"The photographer caught the vibe and made sure you got [these] pictures lol" said one user while another agreed, saying: "[The] Photographer was trying help you out!!!"
"I have so many questions," commented Jennifer.
And this TikToker admitted their focus was initially on something else, writing: "Damn and here was I, thinking 'did you notice the lighting was terrible in all of these' oof I hope you didn't pay too much money for those."
And the comments didn't stop there.
"Did she not get the memo that she was not the bride?!!!!!"
"I’m assuming you all are very close, but they’re your wedding photos and it’s almost like she’s trying to also be center of attention."
This user took it one step further and explained how one shouldn't ignore these "red flags": "On behalf of all of us who ignored our intuition, if yours is throwing red flags please don’t make the same mistake we did."
That's slightly unnerving, isn't it?
In a follow-up video the couple explained that the drama was unnecessary because the bridesmaid was "just a friend" who had lost her balance during the photoshoot.
"A bunch of you speculated what happened and she did just lose her balance and was grabbing onto me," her man, Travis, says to the camera. "Sorry to disappoint everybody who wanted me to be a cheater and the bridesmaid-to-be a home wrecker. That is not actually what happened."
But did this convince the naysayers? Absolutely not.
And let's just say they were more blunt the second time...
"She’s sleeping with him girl tag me when you find out," one user said, with many others believing that some sort of soap opera-style affair was taking place.
In one more final attempt to cool things down, Heather later uploaded footage from the pair's photoshoot, along with the photographer's audio.
"She did lose her balance," she wrote in the caption. "[And] she didn’t touch his crotch, they were listening to the photographer. TikTok made it go viral, we are still laughing at the commentary."
Fortunately, the new husband and wife have been able to see the funny side of it all, as they shared a video of themselves laughing, drinking beers, and checking the comments.

A bridesmaid-to-be has gone viral after she revealed the dress she was being asked to wear for her best friend's wedding.
The UK woman (who goes by @pilyplum on TikTok) took to the social media app to explain how her friend had let her fiancé pick the bridesmaid dresses for their upcoming nuptials.
Unfortunately, the low-cut blue dress he selected posed a problem for the TikToker, because it's scooped neckline left her 34GG breasts almost entirely exposed.
"So, my best friend let her fiancé pick the bridesmaids' dresses," she said sarcastically in a video as she posed in the pale blue gown.
Clearly, people were shocked by the post, which has racked up over 2.4 million views on TikTok, and hundreds of comments.
Many viewers were of the opinion that the groom-to-be had deliberately picked out a revealing dress for the TikToker.
"Obviously had you in mind when he picked it," one user commented, while another agreed: "Man knew what he was doing."
"He understood the assignment," someone else joked.
Meanwhile, others were adamant that she couldn't wear the dress or she'd upstage the bride.
"Omg what is the bride going to wear to outshine the dress," one person wrote. Another added: "You're not supposed to outdo the bride," and a third chimed in: "For your best friend, the focus should be on the bride and not the bridesmaids."
Others didn't think it was a completely lost cause, and had some useful tips in mind for how she could make the dress more appropriate.
"Find a high sitting vest top to wear under it," one suggested, another agreeing: "Maybe a blue vest underneath or something?"
In a follow-up TikTok, the bridesmaid took some of the comments on board. She tried on the low-cut dress with a blue vest underneath it to make it a little more modest.
While she didn't express an opinion as to whether the vest had solved the problem, many people in the comments made the point that she shouldn't have to wear the dress if she felt uncomfortable.
"I think the dress should be changed entirely if they haven’t considered the bridesmaid," one person argued.

A groom has divided the internet after arriving at his own wedding in a coffin - yeah, you read that right - in a coffin.
The husband-to-be took "til death do us part" a little too seriously when he decided to be carried down the aisle by his friends in a casket, much to the amusement of his guests.
In the one-minute clip, you can see a black hearse pull up as everyone turns to look. The trunk is then opened and a black coffin is hauled out by six people, who look slightly embarrassed about the situation they've somehow found themselves in - at a wedding, no less.
As it's being carried down to the front of the outdoor venue, you can clearly see one of the coffin-bearers shake their head and look down, while the others have awkward smiles plastered on their faces.
The entrance was filmed by an onlooker and uploaded to TikTok where social media users were left shocked and appalled by the bizarre display.
Check out the full video below:"The hell..." Commented one user.
"I’d be at the bar already drinking and trying to figure out how to make different friends," another added.
"We would be divorced before we said I do," said another.
"I could see if it was a Gothic wedding but it wasn't even executed nicely," a different TikTok user pointed out.
Others couldn't help but marvel at the concept.
"Okay but why did I think the bride was the one in the casket?" Asked one user.
"Tell me you don’t want to get married without telling me..." Laughed another
And one even tried to read between the lines: "Is he trying to say his life is over now?"
But it wasn't all doom and gloom online (even though it might have been at the venue) because some people actually thought it was "cute."
One said: "I actually thought this was kinda cute. I interpret it as like 'I was dead before I met you' or 'my life didn’t truly start until I met you.'"
Now, this isn't the first time we've heard about weird wedding stunts. From strange cartoon themes, to wacky locations, we've seen it all, but this coffin concept may just have taken the top spot for the most unique idea ever...
