Crocs can be a divisive choice of shoe at the best of times, but a heated debate has been sparked online after brides have spoken out about wearing a white pair on their wedding day.
Your wedding day is arguably one of, if not the biggest day of your life. Planning it can be an extremely stressful affair but it usually turns out well when you tie the knot with your significant other.
One aspect of planning a wedding that can cause stress is figuring out what to wear. There's the traditional white wedding dress or a sharp suit, but fashion extends beyond that.
In what is one of the cruelest aspects of life, shoes that look good for formal occasions are often those that are the most uncomfortable, as demonstrated on a night out when people stagger home with their heels in hand.
Some women clearly don't want this stress at their wedding and decide to go for comfort by wearing a pair of white Crocs, and honestly, it seems like they made the right call.
The seemingly harmless post on the Wedding Ideas page on Facebook asks the simple question: "Wedding crocs? Yes or No?!"
It would appear this struck a chord with many people, who offered their views on wearing Crocs at a wedding and it turned into a pretty heated discussion.
"No no no no no," one person began. "Perhaps in 1990? Crocs are acceptable almost nowhere - in fact I can’t think of anywhere but people buy them so someone must wear them."
A second added: "I hate few things in life but Crocs are at the top of my list. And when coordinated with an outfit. Lord help me I physically shudder."
Don't panic all you Crocs lovers, because there were a number of people defending the shoe that has the power to turn friends into enemies.
"Love them! Why the heck not be comfy? I think it's awesome! Heck, if I could have worn crocs down the aisle as a bride - I would have!", a Crocs lover confessed.
Another said: "I vote yes. Comfortable happy feet mean happy bridesmaids. Hopefully, they can dance in crocs... Why hurt yourself to look good to other women who are also hurting their feet knees backs and necks w uncomfortable shoes."
It turns out that wedding Crocs are quite a large movement, with designers jazzing up a simple white croc with jewelry and gems to give them the glamorous look that the occasion calls for.
