Abby Hensel's new husband is facing a paternity suit from his ex-wife, which was filed around the time his new marriage came to light.

As previously reported, Brittany and Abby, who are dicephalus conjoined twins, captured the nation's attention when they shared their extraordinary story on The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 1996.

Born fused at the torso, the now 34-year-olds continue to navigate life together as adults. Sharing a bloodstream and all organs below the waist, Abby controls their right arm and leg, while Brittany manages the left.

Their captivating narrative was further explored in the TLC reality series Abby & Brittany, showing their experiences as they prepared for college graduation and embarked on travels across Europe.

Since the conclusion of their reality show a decade ago, much has changed in their lives. According to records uncovered by Today, Abby exchanged vows with Josh Bowling, a nurse and United States Army veteran, in 2021.

But after making headlines, sadly it seems that social media trolls have been out in full force - but the sisters have swiftly hit back with a message for their "haters".

In a video shared to their TikTok account on Friday (March 29), they shared a video simply captioned: "#forever". Check it out below:

The video showed an image of the sisters posing with Josh, with the audio saying: "This is a message to all the haters out there. If you don’t like what I do, but watch everything I’m doing, you’re still a fan."

Josh now finds himself entangled in a paternity suit filed by his ex-wife, Annica Bowling.

The suit, lodged on October 2, 2023, comes approximately two years after the marriage of Abby and Josh, as per documents accessed by PEOPLE.

Annica, 33, has initiated legal proceedings against both Josh and another individual named Gavin Vatnsdal, as per Minnesota court records.

The suit revolves around the paternity of Annica's youngest daughter, born subsequent to her separation from Josh. However, due to the child's status as a minor, the documents refrain from divulging her identity.

A significant development occurred on March 7, as a genetic test report was appended to the file, though the specifics of the test and its outcome remain undisclosed to the public.

Josh and Annica, who exchanged vows in 2010 before parting ways in 2019, share joint custody of their daughter, Isabella, aged 8.

Following their split in 2020, Annica welcomed another daughter. Referred to as "Isabella's half-sister" in their divorce documents of 2022, the child, now aged 3, potentially finds herself at the center of the paternity dispute. A motion hearing for the suit is slated for April 19.

Both Abby and Brittany have pursued careers as teachers at an elementary school in their native Minnesota.

"The whole world doesn't need to know who we're dating," Brittany said in the 2006 documentary Joined for Life: Abby & Brittany Turn 16, as reported by E! News. "Or what we're gonna do and everything."

Their aspirations for motherhood were also touched upon in the documentary, with Brittany expressing interest in the prospect. "Yeah, we're going to be moms," she affirmed. "We haven't thought about how being moms is going to work yet."
