Two newlyweds have divided social media after displaying a sign requesting that their wedding guests do not wear face masks during their big day.
A photograph of the sign was first posted to Reddit in the site's 'weddingshaming' forum by user 'spiritraccoons'. The Redditor captioned the post: "Found in an Oklahoma wedding resale group. I hate it here."
Seemingly set up outside of the wedding venue, the framed sign reads: "Unplugged Ceremony - We invite you to be fully present with us during our ceremony. Please turn off all cell phones & cameras to enjoy this special moment with us. Thank you!"
It then adds: "No masks, please."

As of this writing, the post has received over 4,500 'upvotes' and over 200 comments from other Redditors - with some people divided over whether or not the sign should even exist.
One person commented: "Look, I get not wanting to be reminded of the pandemic every time you look at photos, but if that's the case, wait until the pandemic is over, or just look at it as a 'wow, look what we survived!' thing."
A second Reddit user added: "Anti-maskers like to pretend it’s about “individual choice” but you can tell from signs like this that their anti-mask, anti-mask positions are just tribalism."

"No masks, please? Well, I’ll be turning around and going home. The couple can eat my dinner cost for that idiotic statement." a third wrote.
Funnily enough, many of the comments were in agreement with the "no cell phones" rule, with one person joking: "As I was reading the first part, I was so curious why this made it here. and then I saw the last line. YIKES"
However, there were some Redditors who agreed with the sign, with one supporter commenting: "I would also want to see smiling faces and not masks at the reception. Especially if people are vaccinated."
Per the official Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, the CDC "continues to recommend avoiding large events and gatherings."
The CDC also encourages people holding any type of event to "promote healthy behaviors that reduce spread" - such as requiring attendees and staff to wear face masks, encouraging the use of face masks prior to the event, and even having face masks on-hand to distribute.
