It's perfectly normal for new parents to be a little overprotective. Seriously, when you've just had your first baby, everything makes you nervous, and you'll be watching your little one like a hawk all the time, for fear of harming them in any way. Sometimes, you can even overreact and freak out when nothing has actually happened.

For instance, this week a new father's Imgur post has gone viral, after he saw a T-shirt with his baby's face on it in the washing machine, and panicked when he thought the worst had happened.

Taking to the image macro sharing website, Imgur, a user with the handle 'ARussianAndHisBike' shared a picture he'd taken recently of his washing machine. The machine was clearly engaged in a laundry cycle, with clothes tumbling around inside.

However, disturbingly, a baby’s face was pressed up against the door. The Imgur user in question had the shock of his life, assuming momentarily that his child had somehow climbed inside the machine, and was now trapped in there while it was in the midst of a spin cycle.

Thankfully, he realized that he'd forgotten about a T-shirt he owned with his child's face on it, which was currently in the machine. His little baby was thankfully unharmed!

The relieved daddy shared the picture with the internet, and captioned the post: "Please, if you are ever washing your favorite shirt with a picture of your child on it, just put a warning note on the washer or something…"

The post quickly went viral, accruing over 100,000 views in just a few hours from other people who had seen the pic and assumed the worst.

However, recently a Twitter user was accused of animal cruelty after posting a video of herself putting her own dog in a tumble-dryer.
