A diner has recently sparked a debate online after he decided to clear up his meal when he was finished so that the server didn't have to.
While many people try to leave their table as tidy as possible after eating - rather than looking like a bomb has hit it - there are few that go to quite this level to help out the wait staff.
The TikTok user, who goes by the name of Nick, revealed that it was his previous experience as a server in the hospitality industry that inspired him to go the extra mile every time.
He shared the clip, telling his followers: "POV: your [sic] a customer who has worked in the service industry so not only do you tip but you clean up after yourself like a grown up."

He added in the caption: "What a crazy concept," as viewers got to see him stacking the dirty plates, napkins, and cutlery into a neat pile next to the used glasses, before grabbing his to-go box with his leftovers.
Nick added in a follow-up comment: "Some people don’t realize this is what [us] adults do. I posted this as a bare minimum reference."
Others agreed with Nick, commenting: "I do that every time I’m at a restaurant," and "Basic decency and manners. The people who don’t is beyond me,"
Another added: "I do this too. And I pick up every piece of food my kids drop. Used to drive my ex crazy, but it’s not their job to clean up after my kids."

However, some were left divided on whether the cleaning up should be left to those who are paid to do it - despite the service industry traditionally being low-paid and reliant on tips to make up wages.
One commented: "paying to do ur job and tipping u for it," while another wrote: "Lmaoo I’ll tip but I’m not cleaning up the table that part of the reason u go out is it not?"
Another user added: "i may stack the dishes up, but that's it."

Others - who seemingly are the ones leaving their table looking like a pigsty - were even harsher with their criticism of customers cleaning up after themselves.
One wrote: "Thats a crazy [concept]," while another sniped: "no f*** off do your job."
Another user even claimed: "I'm going to make sure I'm more of a slob at the diner now because of you."

Wow.
Here's hoping the video will make at least some people think twice about making a server's life harder by leaving their table in a huge mess and they decide to turn over a new leaf and tidy up a bit before they go.
After all, the less time spent cleaning up tables, the sooner everyone else gets seated and looked after. So really, everyone wins.
