One mom appeared to get a little over-excited on Halloween this year when was caught grabbing handfuls of candy from a generous neighbor.
Thankfully, the tricksy trick-or-treater was caught in the act by a trusty doorbell camera.
In a clip posted to Reddit, the woman can be seen approaching a front porch with her son, who is dressed up as Spider-Man for the occasion.
The homeowners had left buckets of candy out for trick-or-treaters - though the tradition is that you'd knock before helping yourself to the treats (although, it is not known if there was a sign allowing kids to help themselves).
Footage shared to social media then shows the mom bending over and filling her pumpkin-shaped pot with handfuls of candy.
Check out the clip below:The clip then cuts to another doorbell camera at a different house, where the woman can be seen doing the same thing. This time, the homeowners catch her in the act and ask her pointedly to "please leave some for the other kids".
Startled, the mom tries to make excuses by saying that her son was "just looking for peanut butter M&Ms". But the owners were having none of it.
"Yeah, I know you took the whole bin," the man says, adding: "I saw you on camera."
The woman tosses some candy back into the bucket and appears to tell her son: "Come on."
We then see the woman and her son arrive at a third house, where they are once again caught on a doorbell camera taking far more than their fair share of candy.
Since being posted to Reddit, the video has racked up thousands of comments. Many people criticized the mom, pointing out that she was setting a poor example for her son.
"Great lesson to teach her kid," one person wrote sarcastically. Another commented: "The poor kid in the video will struggle in life because his mom's teaching him s*** lessons. Parents like this make me sad."
"His mom is taking his holiday fun away first of all. She's getting the candy, he's not even included by her," a third wrote, adding:
"That poor kid probably doesn't even get to enjoy all that candy either. She probably takes it all to work."
