A DoorDash driver documented a huge $900 order which came with a fairly sizeable tip, but some think it wasn't worth it in relation to the total price.

Tipping culture is something that causes a large debate, particularly in the US as it seems to be customary as opposed to optional like in other countries.

With the emergence of delivery services where every cuisine imaginable can turn up at your front door after a few taps on a phone, more and more people take to work as a delivery driver.

Some even document their work on social media, with people being fascinated at the process that occurs as they sit patiently at home waiting for their goods to arrive.

DoorDash is one such service that will deliver pretty much anything you like (within reason) to your door, and one driver found herself delivering a huge $900 order.

The TikToker who goes by the name Nasia Eastt took to the online platform where she showed the backseat of her car jam-packed full of goods.

Text over the video explained: "Ain't no way we was missing out on this order, car scraping the road and we goin 15 mph [sic]."

Speaking during the video, the delivery driver said: "When you're a DoorDasher and you have to pull a $900 order in your Nissan Altima."

She then showed her phone to the camera and it revealed she would be gaining a tip of $86.09 for her service, but the amount divided opinion.

Taking to the comments, one person wrote: "They would have to give me higher tip than $86.00. That’s nuts! 15% of your order is [$]135 and that’s the minimum!"

A second said: "Still a bit low for $900 groceries.  That should be at least $135. But $160 since it’s such heavy items. Doordash should be covering dat 15% tip [sic]."

Though others believed the tip was fair, as a third person said: "I’d love to do this but I don’t think it would fit in my Mitsubishi Mirage lol."

"Respect for you and honestly it's worth every penny," a fourth added.

Many people become DoorDash drivers as a second income, due to the ability to work independently whenever they want to, without set hours or a minimum time they have to commit to the role.

They are also able to pick and choose the jobs they accept through the platform, as well as make the most of promotions and peak pay to boost their earnings.

While many drivers may have turned down such a huge and heavy order, Nasia confirmed that her car was unharmed by the delivery and made it clear that she was grateful for the $86 tip.
