A fire brigade has issued an urgent message on social media, warning people not to cook steaks in their toaster.
In what is the latest bizarre trend in the world of TikTok, many are taking part in the "toaster steak" challenge, which - as you may have worked out - involves people cooking a raw steak in a toaster.
The trend initially started in 2020 after Juliette - who goes by the handle @itsmeju1iette - posted a video of herself preparing a romantic meal for her boyfriend by putting a steak in a toaster. The clip amassed almost 16 million views and 1.2 million likes.
Since that first video went viral, the trend has gotten out of hand with 5.6 million views in the #toastermeals tag on the social media platform - with many users testing to see if the kitchen hack works.
Check out Juliette's TikTok below:
Despite initially becoming a viral sensation two years ago, the London Fire Brigade has since drawn attention to the two-year-old video by cautioning people not to try this at home.
In a post to their official Twitter account, they alerted: "What you having for dinner? This #Electricalsafetyweek we're reminding people to only use electrical products for their designated use."
"Don't cook steaks in a toaster," they added, after sharing a video of Juliette's infamous TikTok footage.
In addition to the fire brigade's warning, Gordan Ramsay also stepped in to set the TikToker straight when it was first posted. On his official TikTok account, the 56-year-old stitched the clip, quizzing in a disappointed tone: "What are you doing?"
"A toaster's for bread, and if I had two slices I'd stick them on your ears, you idiot," he said at the time, adding, "And now you're gonna cover it in sauce, really?"
It seems like many people agreed with Ramsay's frustration, as one user wrote: "This is so barbaric it’s not even funny."
While another said: "GOOGLE HOW DO YOU DELETE SOMEONE ELSES VIDEO."
The boundary-breaking home chef has also attempted other weird food and appliance combos such as using an iron to cook a cheeseburger, a straightener to cook bacon and eggs, and a coffee maker to cook spaghetti and meatballs.
She has also used a dryer to cook hotdogs, a car engine to cook a grilled cheese, a microwave for an entire roast turkey, and a dishwasher to cook ramen.
Juliette actually spoke with Insider about her viral clip and said: "The steak was amazing. I'm not just saying that to prove everybody wrong. I actually ate half of the steak. It was fully cooked."
"I was surprised that it actually worked. Some people think the video is fake, but it's 100% real. I would recommend that more people cook with their toaster," she added.
Well... just like the fire brigade, we also recommend that people don't use their toaster to cook steak.
A woman has gone viral after taking to TikTok to post a video of her using a toaster to cook her boyfriend steak. Naturally, the internet is in serious shock right now.
The lady - named Juliette or @itsmeju1iette on the popular video-sharing platform - captioned the post, "Cooking steak for my boyfriend" along with the hashtags "cooking" and "chef".
Check out the moment Juliette cooks her boyfriend steak using a toaster:

As the short clip plays, the words, "How to cook a steak" can be seen.
The lady starts by placing two sizable cuts of steak in each slot in the toaster, waits for them to "toast" before removing them with a pair of cooking tongs and placing them on a plate.
Juliette then douses the sizzling hot steaks in steak sauce, and the video then abruptly cuts to a shot of her apparently eating a piece of the steak she had just cooked in the toaster.
Check out how to make this dish of cheese-smothered steak and crispy herb potatoes:

Needless to say, the video currently has an impressive 1.6 million views, 107k likes, and 11.1k comments.
It also goes without saying that many of the commenters were stunned - shall we say - by the unconventional cooking technique.
One person named Adrian made this prediction, alongside a laughing emoji.: "Gordon Ramsey isn't gonna be happy bout this one [sic]."
Another evidently shocked user with the username Haley Mermaid wrote: "I just watched a crime happen."
One user named Daragh Power seemed to take personal offense to the cooking technique, telling the TikToker: "I hope the next time you make toast its [sic] slightly more burnt then [sic] you want and it's not nice."
One horrified user asked the content creator: "How do you clean the toaster?"
Incredibly, this isn't the first time, Juliette has used ordinary household items to cook her meals.
Indeed, the content creator has also taken to TikTok to show how she makes bacon and egg using a pair of hair straighteners, fries a cheeseburger using an iron, and puts hot dogs in the washing machine.

A mother has sparked a debate online after sharing videos of her six-month-old baby eating a bloody steak, and it's safe to say some people aren't happy.
There seems to be a constant debate about what infants should and should not be eating, with different generations and cultures having various ways of raising their kids.
One thing that seems to be widely agreed upon is the need for milk from the mother or other sources during the first stage of life.
Transitioning onto solid foods is a big step in a baby's life, with most parents opting for mushed-up vegetables or something along those lines - but one mother decided to cut out the middle man and handed her baby a chunk of steak.
TikTok user Katie (@mrskatieharley) shared a video that has since been viewed over 200,000 times where her six-month-old child happily chews on a steak.
The caption reads: "People loooove [sic] giving parenting advice to people who didn’t ask," and the text on the video thanks all the people who have criticized the mother's parenting methods for viewing the video.
Naturally, seeing a baby eat a chunk of rare steak is quite bizarre, but that's not to say that it didn't go without praise.
One concerned viewer said: "Cool but you should probably cook it a bit more she’s a baby…no hate," while others added that the steak posed a choking risk.
Though it appears that many people support the mother's decisions, and judging by the comments it seems that quite a few people give their children steak from an early age.
"It’s good for them and encourages jaw development and strength," one person said, with another adding: "Finally another mom that does this !!! My baby was underweight at 4 months old and refused baby food and her doctor told me to try regular food."
The mother posted a follow-up video of her baby one year on from the viral video, and it would appear that the infant still enjoys chowing down on a juicy steak.
Would you let your child eat this at such an early age? Let us know in the comments!

Christmas with relatives is never drama-free.
But Lizzy Bristow's 2021 Christmas dinner takes some beating.
The specialist LGBTQ fitness coach - who goes by @bodybydaddy/LGBTQ FITNESS on TikTok - recounted the crazy story of how she rescued her girlfriend's grandma, right after she made a homophobic comment.
In a video posted to TikTok, Bristow recounted the dramatic moment.
"Do you what it's like to give CPR to your girlfriend's grandmother on Christmas, at Christmas dinner? Let me tell you," she begins, before launching into the story.
She continues: "Okay! So, it's Christmas dinner. I'm sitting next to her brother, across from me is the 91-year-old grandmother. My girlfriend's out of the room and her mom is out of the room.
"We had steak for dinner, it was delicious. The brother notices though, that the grandmother is chewing, looking down and she can't swallow something. She's really struggling."
Bristow then describes how things took a turn for the worse.
"All of a sudden her face turns blue, I stand up. 'Does anyone know the Heimlich?'
"The oldest brother, the strongest one, he tries. But he doesn't know what he's doing, because he's not CPR certified. I am. I jump up, he's like 'Take over, take over!' I'm like 'okay.'"
Bristow begins giving granny the Heimlich - but it's no good, and to her horror, the old lady faints in her arms.
"I lay her down on the ground and I start compressions. Everyone around me is losing it. I yell for someone to call 911, everyone just scatters," she continues.
She then reveals that this is the woman who just an hour earlier had made a homophobic comment when she asked Bristow if she was "the boy."
"And now I'm over her, and I'm giving her compressions, probably breaking her ribs."
Eventually, a small piece of steak appears in the grandma's mouth and she regains consciousness.
"I felt like I won the Super Bowl," Bristow recalled triumphantly.
"I never want to do that again. Everyone get CPR certified," she finished.
In a follow-up video, Bristow revealed that her CPR had in fact broken ribs - every single one of them.
She added that her girlfriend's grandma was recovering in hospital and that when she heard who her savior was she'd told Bristow that she's done a "good job."
And she wasn't the only one to congratulate the fitness coach, whose TikTok about the event had already racked up over 7.9 million views and over 13,000 comments.
"For the rest of her life she’s going to recount the tale of the handsome young man that saved her life," one user joked.
"The boy? No ma’am. THE HERO!" added another.
A woman is warning others not to take part in a popular poached egg hack on TikTok after it left her with painful burns.
Chantelle Conway, a TikToker from England, took part in a challenge on the app that left her with a very sore face.
She said at the start of the video: "Hi guys, just a quick message. People have been telling me about the TikTok hack - doing poached eggs in the microwave. Well, this is what's happened to me. I've literally burnt my whole face and my neck off."
Listen to Chantelle's account of the egg hack fail here:Conway added: "On Friday at 11 o'clock, I put boiling water in a cup and I popped my egg in it and put it in the microwave, say, for five to 10 seconds. Maybe longer - can't remember."
However, when she took the egg cup out, disaster struck.
She recalled: "When I took it out I put the cold spoon - just as you normally would - in the cup to take my egg out and as I put my spoon in the cup, the cold spoon shocked the water because it was so hot. So basically it's boiled, it's burst all over my face."
The content creator then concluded her post with this warning: "Please do not do that egg cup challenge!"
The video has since been viewed over 180,000 times and has racked up over 3,000 likes and a number of comments.
Many TikTok users felt sympathy for Chantelle and her mishap and sent their well wishes.
One such well-wisher wrote: "Omg hope your [sic] ok speedy recovery."
Another said: "Hope you get better soon! So frightening!"
A third offered a piece of advice: "I'm sorry this happened to you wishing you a speedy recovery! You're not supposed to use metal in boiling liquids, use wooden!!"
A different TikTok user shared a similar story: "This happened to me when I was on holiday with a spring roll. I got 3rd degree burns all over my arms."
A final user commented: "This is my worst fear when doing this, I've done it for about 2 years but I always let it sit for about 1 to 2 minutes before taking it out the microwave."

A woman has sparked a discussion on social media after accidentally ordering a $300 steak at an anniversary dinner with her significant other.
Daniela - who goes by the handle @ikingdani on TikTok - shared a video to the social media platform of an eye-watering moment from her two-year anniversary.
The creator said in the video that her partner recommended that she get the wagyu sirloin, but instead, she mistakenly ordered a regular 8-ounce wagyu - which brought the total price of her meal to over $300. This was significantly higher than her partner's $48 salmon dish.
Daniela wrote: "I thought he was going to break up with me," as she showed her partner jokingly shaking his hand as he inserted his card to pay for the dinner.
Check out Daniela's TikTok below:If the bill wasn’t startling enough, the video amassed 4 million views and 454.6K likes, as of this writing, with many users debating over who should have paid for what.
While Daniela's boyfriend did pay the bill, some people thought that she should have put something towards the outrageous price.
One user wrote: "You should’ve offered to pay half. That’s a big bill."
Another commented: "A good partner would pay their part of the bill in a situation like this or at the very least offer to."
A third user joked: "You can’t get mad if he waits 8 years to propose. He’s gotta save up all over again for a ring."
Others thought Daniela should have offered to pay the whole bill, with one Tiktok user writing: "The guilt would destroy me, I'd pay all I could and pay him back the rest later.
Meanwhile, others believed Daniela was not in the wrong and that the restaurant waiters should have informed them of the differences between the steaks.
One user commented: "Waiter should’ve said something," while another wrote: "The server should’ve confirmed that’s what you meant to order given the disparity in the dishes."
A user shared with Daniela that they experienced the same mishap, writing: "Took my hubby to dinner for his bday at a Michelin Star restaurant. apps, 24oz A5 Wagyu, drinks, dessert... $1200".
Daniela later reiterated that it had been an accident and she felt so terrible that left the restaurant in tears but her partner assured her that they would joke about the moment in a couple of months.
To make matters even worse, Daniela wrote in the comments section that the steak wasn't even worth the expensive price - making her meal worthless.
Still, the couple seemed to have handled the situation well and Daniela even found ways to make it back up to her boyfriend. When one user wrote: "you better have bought that man a PS5," she simply responded: "I did."
