A man who appears to have the largest thumb in the world has left people in shock at its sheer size.

If you ask a man if he would like any body part to be bigger, there's one that probably springs to mind straight away.

However, I highly doubt many people would give their thumb as an answer.

Thumbs are what set us apart from a lot of animals, which sucks for them because they can never have a thumb war.

But I digress.

Jacob Pina, 25, has gained millions of followers on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube, where he showcases his unusually long thumb, earning both fame and curiosity from fans worldwide.

Pina's right thumb measures approximately five inches when fully stretched, just shy of the length of an iPhone 16.

His left thumb is also notably long but slightly shorter, he revealed.

While the size of his thumb has brought him internet stardom, it also presents practical challenges, including difficulties with texting and navigating his cellphone.

In a recent TikTok video, which has garnered nearly 100,000 views, Pina demonstrated how he uses his oversized thumb to scroll through social media apps. The footage sparked widespread fascination and bewilderment among viewers.

"This makes me physically uncomfortable," one commenter admitted. Another user quipped: "Bro, this is a sword."

Despite its unique appearance, Pina says his thumb isn't painful to stretch and has given him some unexpected advantages.

"It’s been a positive experience having a long thumb. It’s never stopped me doing anything, and sharing it on TikTok has gained me so many followers who are thumb enthusiasts around the world," he told the Daily Mail.

Pina discovered his unusual thumb during his freshman year of high school but kept it a secret until 2019, when a friend encouraged him to join TikTok.

Since then, he has amassed a staggering 2.8 million followers by comparing his thumb to everyday objects like water bottles and video game controllers.

"I can’t believe the number of likes I’ve got," he said, marveling at his social media success.

Pina notes that both his thumbs can stretch abnormally long, but his dominant right thumb is slightly longer, making it his go-to for social media demonstrations.

Medical experts remain uncertain about the cause of Pina's unusually flexible thumbs.

Hypermobile joints, which affect about 10% of Americans, may offer some explanation, but Pina has no known genetic or underlying health conditions associated with hypermobility.

Genetic disorders such as Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (HEDS) and Marfan Syndrome, which affect connective tissues and lead to extreme flexibility, are among the conditions that could theoretically cause such a trait.

However, Pina has not reported any related symptoms.

While it’s unclear if Pina’s thumb holds any official records for its size, his social media notoriety speaks volumes. From amusing thumb wars to exceptional gaming skills, Pina has embraced his unique feature.

"And I’m pretty good with Xbox," he said. "I was like top ten in the world for probably 10 seasons straight in Rainbow Six Siege."
