Back in the day - I'm talking 150+ years ago - celebrities were people who found fame through their philanthropic work, remarkable inventions, or great leadership. Nowadays people can become famous for having an incredibly long thumb.
But in all seriousness, LOOK AT IT!
That's right, a TikTokker by the name of Jacob Pina has found fame online (or, at least, a part of him has) due to the fact he has a huge thumb.

Genuinely, if you're looking for a tag-team partner for some thumb wrestling tournament, give Pina a call.
The 20-year-old has amassed almost 1 million followers on the social media platform thanks to his supersized digit, and has even been interviewed by local news reporters.

Pina first went viral back in 2019 after sharing videos of his ability to seemingly make his thumb grow at will. Now he's back, and showing off what his thumb is up to in summer 2020.
In the new clip, which has already racked up over 6.7 million views in just four days, Pina pretends that his thumb is too hot and needs to cool off in some water.
When he pulls his thumb out, it is somehow even longer (six-inches long, to be precise).

So, is it fake? Is it all a trick? Maybe Pina is using a filter or photoshop? Well, no - Pina's thumb really can "grow" that long thanks to the fact he is able to dislocate it on demand.
Speaking to NBC Boston, Pina assured reporters that it isn't painful and said he's "been doing it for years".
And people in Jacob's comments sections simply cannot believe what they are seeing:
And back in 2019, Pina told the Boston Globe: "No app. No Photoshop, and it's not a Snapchat filter. It's real. It's real, dude. Everybody says, 'That's fake man, you’re using some sort of trick.' Nope. I don't Photoshop. I don't do anything like that."

And Pina even revealed that he is now making money from his extremely long extremity, telling NBC Boston that he is being paid for brand deals and ad revenue from news sites.
And even his mom, Karen Pragana, is getting in on the fun. Telling the Globe: "I always joked with him that it got that way from gaming. He's a big-time avid gamer."
