A maid of honor gave an incredible speech at her best friend's wedding that left everyone in tears, despite not actually being in the room.
Giving a speech at a wedding is a great honor because it means you are loved enough by the happy couple to be given the opportunity to address the room and trusted enough that you won't completely derail the day.
Some people, particularly the best man, will use their chance to embarrass their friend as best as they possibly can, and sometimes it can get a bit cringe.
However, in this case, the speech hit the sweet spot and left everyone in tears.

Their friendship has spanned three decades, meaning the reason for Ally missing the big day was a good one - she had just welcomed a baby girl into the world a few days prior.
"Our friendship means the world to us, and it was really tough knowing I couldn't be there because I'd just given birth," Ally shared with attendees via a speaker during the wedding ceremony.
Stating that she and Michelle have many memories together, Ally said that she could fill a podcast with what to talk about, but soon settled on speaking about a trip to Italy.
"I'll never forget my first evening in Cortona, Italy. In true Michelle fashion, she had whisked me up and down the incredibly steep, windy roads that Tuscan city was perched upon," she began.

Continuing to say that she was shown a mummified corpse during the day, before being asked out on a date by an Italian man who had hit her with his car, the room erupted with laughter.
Ally continued to list memories that the pair had shared together, including helping each other through breakups and how their life had led them to that point in Italy.
Michelle became visibly emotional when Ally referred to her as her "sister" and that they were in a "sisterhood".
The attention soon turned to the happy couple, as Ally claimed that she had never known two people to be so "perfect for one another" and that she knew that Michelle and Matt would spend a "lifetime of happiness" together.
It's safe to say, there wasn't a dry eye in the room after the speech.
"I wrote this speech at 3:00AM during a diaper change, the night before her wedding," Ally revealed to Good Morning America. "It's wild how the whole idea for the speech just popped into my head out of nowhere."
Reflecting on the impact of the speech, Michelle expressed her gratitude, saying: "I felt so lucky in the moment and I couldn't believe that it was happening, what I was hearing, and all the inside jokes and references brought so many memories flooding back. It was perfect."

"It was so special to share such an intimate memory of [our] friendship with first her wedding and now with the whole world, and it's been such a joy to have everybody be so supportive of our female friendship," Ally expressed. "It's been a blessing to have everybody kind of be along for that and to recognize that, just like she and I have for the past 30 years."
