A man cut in half by a forklift shared a horrifying photo of the moment it fell on him.

Loren Schauers from Wilsall, Montana, was involved in a horrific 2019 accident that saw him plummet off a bridge while driving a forklift.

The 21-year-old fell 50 feet to the ground below and, when he landed, the lower half of his body and one of his arms were crushed.

Loren eventually opted to have a hemicorperectomy - an operation that amputates the entire lower half of a patient's body - which enabled him to narrowly avoid death. Now, he and his wife Sabia give viewers a glimpse into their lives on YouTube, where they boast more than 540,000 subscribers.

The Daily Star reported that Loren posted an Instagram photo of the moment the forklift accident almost killed him, showing the aftermath of the near-fatal incident that saw him get too close to the edge due to traffic and fall off a bridge while in the truck.

Loren said the image shows him trapped under the forklift, saying: "If you look closely in the second photo, you can see me still pinned under the forklift!"

On YouTube, Loren and his wife posted a Q&A where they discussed the question Loren receives the most - how is he able to go to the bathroom without genitals?

It was Sabia who first brought up the question, stating: "The biggest question that has been asked since our original video is how Loren goes to the bathroom."

In response, Loren revealed: "A colostomy which is my colon pulled out of my body so I can poop. And I have bilateral nephrostomies, they're tubes that go into my kidneys that drain my kidneys into bags so therefore that is how I poop, pee and fart." His wife then added that one of the ways she is able to look after Loren's complex digestive system is by changing his colostomy bags.

Obviously, the couple gets the inevitable question about whether or not Loren has any private parts at all. "We get questions like, 'does he have any private parts?' He's amputated below the waist. If that doesn't answer your questions, Google hemicorporectomy," Sabia said.

Despite the significant injury Loren sustained, the couple were actually able to grow and flourish together following the accident. The pair had only been in a relationship for around 18 months when Loren became crushed under the forklift, but they stayed together through thick and thin and eventually tied the knot in 2021.

"Going through this together has definitely strengthened a lot of the aspects of our relationship," Sabia said, adding: "It has made us a lot more appreciative of the little things that we used to take for granted as a couple before."
