Earlier this year, I vowed to myself that I would improve my cookery skills.
I am not an accomplished chef. Indeed, most Instagram recipe videos are enough to send me into a frenzy of stress, confusion and inevitable despair.
This is because I have neither the organisational nor the technical skills required to cook well. I also have no patience.
In short, I'm something of a lost cause and, as such, have resigned myself to the same three dinners on a revolving door policy for several years now.

Clearly, this can't go on forever. My mealtimes have begun to resemble something akin to groundhog day and I am constantly on the lookout for simple recipes that even I, cack-handed as I am, can pull off.
To be honest, I looked on green with envy and wide-eyed awe as everyone started baking sourdough loaves and banana breads during lockdown. Reader, I did not attempt to follow suit, knowing as I did that the result would most likely be a plume of smoke and a charred baking tray.
Yet a new three-ingredient recipe shared by a mom for chocolate mousse looks to be so simple and delicious that I am sorely tempted to give it a go.
Yes, TikToker @mama_mila_ says that the recipe takes just 30 seconds to whip up, though you will need to do some overnight prep to get your ingredients in order.
According to the TikTok video, you'll need to place a can of coconut milk in the fridge overnight, to allow the cream to separate from the water.
From there, she scoops out the thick cream, add half a cup of icing sugar and a tablespoon of of cocoa powder. After that, it's simply a case of whisking everything together (you'll likely need an electric whisk for this) and enjoying the delicious mousse.
As Mila herself describes it, the perfect Friday night treat!
