A mother has taken to TikTok to share her experiences of giving birth just 11 months apart.

In a video that has gained over 450,000 views, mom Lorena Hinnawi (@lorenahinnawi) shared that, in a very short time after returning home with her first child, she was expecting her second.

Hinnawi captioned her video: "Coming home from the hospital with one baby... just to find out I’m pregnant again . . . Now my baby has a baby. I can’t wait to watch them grow up together."

Check out the mom's video below:

When a mother gives birth to two children within 12 months of each other, they are often referred to as "Irish twins", per Healthline. Although most people mean no offense when they use the term, it is viewed as offensive by many due to its origins. (The phenomenon is also known as "Dutch Twins" or "Catholic Twins".)

In another video, Hinnawi reveals some of the things people say to her when she shares the age gap between her children, such as: "I don't know how you do it", "Oh god, you must have your hands full", and "WOW you guys didn't waste anytime [sic]".

Understandably, the comments from other TikTokers on both of these videos are full of questions and messages of empathy to the couple.

One user states: "I’m about to have Irish twins in a few months" and a second says: This happend [sic] to me with my daughters [...] I was shocked but they are totally best fiends now at 9 and 10".

A third said: "My kids are 13 months apart, it was very hard the first two years but now I love it they are 5 and 6 and best friends", and a fourth offered a message of support: "Y’all are super mums bc I could NOT. My son is [20 months] and I could NOT imagine having another ANY time soon."

An example of a celebrity who gave birth to "Irish Twins" is Britney Spears. Her eldest son Sean Preston Federline was born on September 14 2005, and her second came nearly exactly a year later on September 12 2006.

When the pop star announced her second pregnancy with now ex-husband Kevin Federline, she explained: "It just kind of happened! I'm going to wait a while for the next".

The singer did go on to explain that holding her newborn whilst pregnant with her second did get quite exhausting.

As someone who struggles to even drink enough water every day, my hat goes off to these supermoms!
