An influencer has been criticized for wearing a "disrespectful" dress to her friend's wedding.
Choosing the appropriate wedding outfit is not an easy task - from making sure you follow a dress code to not upstaging the bride - and, of course, wearing white is usually a no-no.
One woman named Tahlia Skaines, an Australian influencer with 830,000 followers on Instagram, recently sparked backlash after sharing pictures of her striking sheer white gown that featured a large cut-out and plunging neckline.
The 29-year-old captioned the snaps: “A beautiful day celebrating love.”
Check out the post below:Some users took to the comment section to praise Skaines for her look, writing that she looked "gorgeous", "stunning," and "beautiful".
Meanwhile, others slammed her, stating that wearing a risque dress like that to someone else’s wedding was "not appropriate".
"Not appropriate to wear to a wedding. You are disrespectful if you [do]," one person denounced, while another disappointed user blasted: "Seriously? Even if there isn’t a dress code did you forget that this day isn’t about you?
"You wore a nearly identical dress to the bride… have just a shred of decency and decorum," they added.
A third user brutally wrote: "And suddenly a new candidate for Narcissist of the Year emerges," and a fourth questioned: "What's the need to show off like that to your friends wedging?? Obviously insecure."
Skaines responded to one of the comments to confirm that the bride wasn't upset with the outfit she chose, writing: "There was a dress code and it was white lol.
"The dress was absolutely nothing like the brides and she loved my dress. but thank you so much for your unsolicited, outdated advice."
Skaines isn't the only influencer who has been bashed online for her wedding outfit.
Internet personality Isabella Mathers, who is also Australian, caused a stir among her followers after posting pictures of the partially see-through, floor-length yellow-ish dress she wore to her friend Rachel Dillion’s wedding welcome dinner.
"The dress choice, regardless whether or not Rachel approved of it, still screams 'attention seeker,'" one person fired, while a second interjected: "The dress is so inappropriate already, it looks too beachy plus the black underwear, screams look at me, and it looks almost white in some lightings..."

"Well just because you can and your friend said ok doesn't mean you should. The bride itself seems more conservatively dressed than you. How rude and inappropriate," a third person pointed out.
One commenter claimed the outfit seemed to suggest that she wanted to “outshine the bride," to which the 25-year-old responded: “The bride is my best friend. You don’t think I discussed every single of my outfits with her?” per The New York Post.
The bride didn't seem bothered by Mather’s dress as she was featured in one of the influencer's pictures.
