A private investigator has revealed one simple thing a lot of male cheaters do that gives them away immediately.

Raymond Ranno, who goes by the handle @ctprivatedetective on TikTok, has worked in private investigating for over 30 years and runs his agency in Connecticut.

According to his website, the PI has worked with "hundreds of attorneys, insurance companies, self-insured companies, universities, police departments, and the private sector," and has caught "thousands of spouses cheating" in his three decades of experience.

"My job is to uncover the evidence of your spouse cheating so you can make a sound decision about your future," he penned. "We perform discreet surveillance on your spouse and determine if they are lying to you about their whereabouts or if they’re involved with other persons."

Ranno appeared on the Locked In with Ian Bick podcast earlier this year to share some clues for those who suspect that their loved one is disloyal.

He revealed one thing that he's noticed male cheaters regularly do before meeting up with their flings is getting their car washed.

“If a guy's going to pick up his sweetie on the side, he wants a clean car,” the detective said. “As soon as somebody goes to the car wash I think ‘Ha ha, what's next?’ It’s amazing how they do that."

Ranno then said it's "pretty much the opposite for women" who cheat, explaining: "Women not so much. Women don't do it so much because they usually jump in the guy's car, and men always want to drive.

"It's very rare that I see a guy jump into a female's car."

The PI disclosed that he's even seen cheaters picking up people "on the same street" as their own homes.

Elsewhere in the clip, the detective opened up about what devices he uses to gather sufficient evidence for the person who's hired him.

He said that he uses a fake coffee cup with a high-definition camera inside so that he can follow the cheaters in public.

"If I go into a coffee place, or a supermarket wherever I need to be, I just take the lid off turn it on put the cap on and it looks like I'm walking around with a coffee. Meantime I'm videotaping everything," he said.

After he has enough proof, the content is given to the person paying him, confirming their suspicions.
