Most people would agree that it's a good idea to keep your parents and your partners separate. After all: what could be more embarrassing than having your dear old mom and pop learn all the juicy details of your love life? Or have them browse your last NSFW search history. I can't think of much worse.
But sometimes our parents can end up learning more about our raunchier sides by accident, and that kind of mishap can be the most toe-curlingly awkward of them all.
If you don't believe me, then just take a gander at this hilarious post made on social media last week, from a woman who accidentally sent her dad an x-rated message meant for her boyfriend.
The girl in question is named Alexa, and on September 12 she took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a recent conversation she'd had by text. As you can see, at one point she sent a message which was intended to be seen by her man only, which read: "babe I wish we could f*ck and eat pizza after every night."
It was only after she'd send the message to her dad that a mortified Alexa sent her father a mortified message simply reading: "Dad I am so sorry."
Luckily for her, Alexa's dad seemed to see the funny side of it all, and later she uploaded a video of herself in which her dad quipped: "so how was the pizza?" - showing that he'd definitely read the message!
In a follow-up post to those people who accused her of fabricating the message for the sake of attention, Alexa wrote:
"For those of you asking... I work 10–12 hours shifts. The reason it took 8.5 hours to respond was because I was sleeping!! I did not do this for 'clout'.... who the frick would voluntarily send that to their father???? I see my dad tomorrow lol nice knowing y’all [sic]."
As you can see from the reactions below, Alexa's followers certainly appreciated the incident, even if it means she won't be able to look her own parent in the eye any more:

So there you have it folks: please learn from Alexa's mistakes, and remember to think before you text. You have been warned!
