A top TV chef from the UK left viewers of a daytime television show furious after throwing his "failed" brunch meal in the trash.

James Martin was showing Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the hosts of This Morning, how to cook an "easy brunch" of röstis with a couple of poached eggs on top.

Unfortunately, for the 47-year-old TV chef, in spite of his culinary prowess, the eggs split and the yolk began running out so that it looked - in Martin's words - like a dog's dinner.

Check out the moment James Martin threw his "failed" poached egg brunch in the trash:

Ashamed of his attempt, Martin decided to toss the perfectly edible meal in the trash - much to the fury of those watching at home.

One viewer wrote: "So many people are suffering with food shortages and access to supermarkets and yet James Martin throws his breakfast away on This Morning because he broke a poached egg?"

Another said: "James Martin throws a hissey fit because his poached egg broke while putting a meal together! Good food in the bin on national tv ....food that people have risked their health to make sure shops and supetmarkets have food to sell! [sic]"

A third added: "James Martin having a tantrum because his poached eggs didn’t work and throwing the whole meal in the bin is embarrassing #ThisMorning."

A different user commented that they had "not been disappointed by the comments after James Martin chucked perfectly edible food straight in the bin."

The user added: "Everyone is fuming and rightly so really! What a waste. #ThisMorning"

Another viewer agreed, writing: "Ive not been able to get eggs for the past fuckin 4 weeks, obviously the culprit is James Martin chucking them all in the bin cause they don't look pretty #ThisMorning."

I really don't know what Martin was thinking - I'd have eaten it...
