We might not even have reached the Christmas hols yet, but time waits for no man. Even if you haven’t got a clue about what you want to leave under the tree for your nearest and dearest, it pays to be prepared for other imminent special occasions. Hence why, when you get an opportunity to buy something silly for next Valentine’s Day, you should probably seize it with both hands.
Credit: 573Sugar-obsessed lovebirds can now show each other how much they mean by drowning themselves in purple food colouring and e-numbers, thanks to Jelly Belly’s new purple “Rosé” Jelly Beans. Spotted by renowned novelty sweet-treat scouts @CandyHunting, the product features “Sparkling Jelly Beans” and is both “Naturally & Artificially Flavoured”. Romantic.
Despite its striking appearance, in-depth information on the product is extremely scarce, especially in Europe. Although the beans themselves are listed on the Jelly Belly website and are tantalisingly visible via Google, it’s impossible to access the page from an EU location, leaving European Jelly Bean lovers bereft.
However, despite limited accessible intel, we do know some information. As @CandyHunting explained in the caption to the original photo on Instagram:
“New Rosé Jelly Belly jelly beans will be out for Valentine's! They will be sold as 1.5 oz and 5.6 oz bottles.”
This means that they should be available in either personal portions or larger bottles, depending on your loved one’s appetite for vaguely alcoholic candy.
Of course, as long-time fans of Jelly Belly’s signature product will know, this isn’t the first time that the company has dabbled in an alcoholic injection. Customers already have the option of picking up a “Cocktail Classics” gift box, featuring Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito, Peach Bellini, Pomegranate Cosmo. If the Rosé doesn’t make it to Europe by February, at least there’s a viable alternative.
