The mystery behind the alleged aliens that were unveiled in Mexico has just become even more intriguing as scientists have concluded that they have "no relation to human beings".
In case you missed it, the alleged aliens, securely encased in transparent containers and said to have been recovered from the depths of Cusco, Peru, have left experts and skeptics alike baffled by their otherworldly characteristics.
Unveiled by UFO expert Jaime Maussan, carbon dating conducted by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has seemingly confirmed the antiquity of these ancient remains, dating them back approximately 1,000 years.
Researchers assert that these entities defy the human evolutionary chain, with approximately 30 percent of their genetic makeup shrouded in mystery.
Despite having questionable features, such as the specimens appearing to be coated in a sand-like substance, a detail rarely observed in well-preserved fossils subjected to rigorous scientific scrutiny, more tests have raised more eyebrows.
José Zalce Benitez, the director of the Health Sciences Research Institute, has revealed that further studies on the alleged aliens have concluded that they belong to a single skeleton and human objects are not part of the design.
One of the specimens "was alive, was intact, was biological and was in gestation," according to Benitez, which hinted that they could be harboring eggs, as reported by the New York Post.
Benitez concluded that these specimens have "no relation to human beings".
Despite the intrigue surrounding the alleged aliens, Maussan has found himself in hot water with Peruvian officials who have launched a criminal probe into his actions.
Culture Minister Leslie Urteaga insisted that these "pre-hispanic" bodies originated on Earth and expressed concern about how they left the country.
In response to the investigation, Maussan maintained his innocence, stating: "I'm not worried. I have done absolutely nothing illegal." However, he refrained from disclosing how he obtained the bodies, promising to reveal the details at a later date.
The presentation also featured retired US Navy Director and former Navy pilot Ryan Graves, who had previously made headlines by asserting that UFOs were an "open secret" within the military. Graves had testified about his squadron's encounters with unidentified objects off the coast of Virginia in 2014.
Yet, it appears that even Graves harbors doubts about the authenticity of Maussan's findings. He tweeted: "Unfortunately, yesterday’s demonstration was a huge step backwards for this issue," expressing his disappointment in what he saw as an "unsubstantiated stunt."
This isn't the first time that Maussan's findings have been shrouded in controversy. In the past, he had presented similar discoveries, only for them to be later debunked as the mummified remains of children.
