Bobbie Jean Carter has tragically passed away at the age of 41.
Known for being the sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, news of Bobbie Jean's passing was confirmed to TMZ by her mother, Jane Carter.
In a statement to the outlet, the grieving mom said: "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.
"When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."
Jane added: "However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."
Circumstances surrounding the 41-year-old's death are currently unknown, but it has been confirmed that she passed away on Saturday (December 23) in Florida.
Bobbie Jean's death comes 13 months after the death of her younger brother, Aaron Carter, who passed away on November 5 last year.
While Bobbie Jean Carter has maintained a relatively private life compared to her younger brothers, she briefly gained some attention in the early 2000s due to her association with the Carter family's fame.
She appeared on the family's reality show House of Carters, which aired on E! in 2006.
The show provided a glimpse into the tumultuous dynamics of the Carter family and showcased their attempts to live together under one roof.
Sadly, Bobbie Jean suffered from addiction and substance abuse the last few years. She was also involved in run-ins with the law, and was arrested as recently as June earlier this year, per PEOPLE.
Our thoughts go out to Bobbie Jean's family, friends, and loved ones at this time.
