On trial for multiple federal charges, including sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy, Sean "Diddy" Combs, 55, faces life in prison if convicted.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial has pulled back the curtain on what prosecutors describe as years of sexual abuse, manipulation, and elaborate multi-day orgies known as “freak-offs,” allegedly organized and directed by Combs himself.
During opening statements on May 12, prosecutor Emily Johnson warned the jury of the graphic nature of the evidence, referencing “days-long, drug-fueled orgies” and “extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers,” as outlined in a September 2024 indictment, per NBC News.
The court documents described these events as “elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded.”
Taking center stage in the trial is R&B singer Casandra Ventura — better known as Cassie — who delivered harrowing testimony over two days.
Visibly emotional and heavily pregnant, Ventura recounted chilling details of her relationship with Combs, including physical abuse, coercion, and being forced into sex acts with male escorts while he watched.
“I felt disgusting. I was humiliated. I didn’t have the words to put together at the time how horrible I really felt, and I couldn’t talk to anybody about it,” she told the jury, breaking down in tears, per CNN.
Asked if there was anything she enjoyed about the “freak-offs,” she responded tearfully, “The time spent with him.” She added: “I felt like it was the only time I could get with him.”
According to Ventura, Combs first introduced voyeurism into their relationship during its first year.
She testified that it began with her “hiring an escort and setting up” a scenario where she would “perform” for Combs while he watched. “My stomach churned,” she said. “I didn’t have a concept of how that would be a turn on, but I accepted the responsibility.”
She continued, “I was confused, nervous, but also loved him very much and wanted to make him happy. It wasn't something that I wanted to be doing, especially as regularly as it became, but again, I was in love and wanted to make him happy. At some point, I felt I didn't have much of a choice.”
Ventura described how what began as an occasional event turned into a full-time obligation. “It became a job,” she said. “I had the contacts to set it up in the hotel room and all of that. At the beginning Sean set it up.”

Some of the “freak-offs,” Ventura said, lasted as long as four days. She said Combs imposed strict rules on how she should look and dress, and revealed the first time they had sex, she had been given ecstasy on a boat in Miami.
The long-term physical and emotional toll these encounters took on her was devastating. Ventura told the court she developed recurring urinary tract infections, mouth sores, and stomach issues.
“When we were having frequent ‘freak offs’ — they were back to back — and sometimes I would do a ‘freak off’ with the infection,” she said. “I tried to flush it out with water. I got to the point where [the antibiotic] CIPRO didn’t work anymore. It was a mess.”
“It was really painful for a long time,” she added. “I can’t believe I actually dealt with that.”
