Fatman Scoop's cause of death revealed a month after tragically collapsing on stage

The cause of death for music star Fatman Scoop has been revealed following his tragic death at the age of 56.

Real-name Isaac Freeman III, the music star left fans and loved ones concerned after he was captured on video collapsing in front of a live crowd at a show in Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut.

Footage showed Scoop hyping up the crowd and calling for them to "make some noise" before walking behind a DJ desk and falling to the ground.

The star was rushed to hospital, but was tragically pronounced dead shortly after on August 30.

Now, the Connecticut Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed to Page Six that the music star's cause of death has been listed as hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Additionally, a spokesperson for the office confirmed that no foul play is suspected and that his cause of death was "natural".

Following Scoop’s untimely passing, his tour manager, Birch Michael, confirmed his death on social media. Paying tribute to his client and friend, Michael wrote: "I am honestly lost for words.

"You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have [truly] made me the man I am today.

"Thank you so much, I love you x."

Scoop's family also paid tribute to the star, writing in a statement: “FatManScoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend. He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage."

"His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten," his family added.

Scoop is perhaps best known for his tracks 'Put Your Hands Up' and 'Be Faithful', as well as his guest performances on the 2005 singles 'Lose Control' by Missy Elliott and 'It's Like That' by Mariah Carey.

Elliott was one of the many stars in the music industry to pay tribute to Scoop, writing in a statement on social media: "Fatman Scoop VOICE & energy have contributed to MANY songs that made the people feel HAPPY & want to dance for over 2 decades. Your IMPACT is HUGE & will be NEVER be forgotten."
