It has just been announced that Nashawn Breedlove, best known for starring in 8 Mile, has sadly died aged 46.
According to TMZ, the rapper - who was famous for battle-rapping Eminem in the movie - passed away in his sleep on Sunday (September 24) at his home in New Jersey.
Breedlove's family has not disclosed his cause of death.
The Bronx star's death was first reported on Monday (September 25) by Mickey Factz, who paid tribute to the actor on social media.
"RIP to one of the few emcee’s to beat Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. Who’s friends lovingly called him, OX," he wrote. "You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness."
A battle rapper named Daylyt also commended the 8 Mile's star memory under Mickey’s post, penning: "The first mc who was ever robbed of his win in a rap battle! Rip lotto."
Nashawn played Lotto in the 2002 movie, which is based on Eminem's life. He was renowned for a scene in the hit movie where his character takes on the rapper's character B-Rabbit in a fierce battle.
In his movie rap, Nashawn sings: "I feel bad I gotta murder that dude from 'Leave it to Beaver'" and the crowd goes crazy, however, he eventually loses the showdown.
Before his big break on 8 Mile, Nashawn was rapping under his stage name OX, and featured on the soundtrack for the 2001 movie The Wash with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
