Jack Whitehall and girlfriend Roxy Horner have welcomed their first baby together.
The British comedian took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to announce that he and his 32-year-old model girlfriend are celebrating the birth of their first child.
The news marks a joyous end to Horner's difficult pregnancy journey that involved struggling with symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) during her final trimester.
The couple welcomed a baby girl at London's prestigious Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, a location famous for hosting royal births including those of The Princess of Wales.
Whitehall broke the news on Instagram on the evening of September 6, writing: "Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined."
The comedian didn't stop at just the announcement, he went on to express awe for Horner, stating: "In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever."
Continuing his Instagram post, Whitehall showed off his humor, and maybe a bit of his new "dad personality," sharing that he wore Skechers to the hospital, and said: "I think I must accept I am a full-blown dad now." As for the baby's name, the comedian teased: "Name wise after this weekend I think ‘rice, rice, baby’ has a nice ring to it."
The couple initially announced their pregnancy earlier this year on May 15, sharing heartfelt Instagram posts complete with baby scan photographs.
While awaiting the birth of his child, Whitehall made an emotional appearance on Steven Bartlett's podcast, The Diary of a CEO. In the interview, Whitehall delved into his relationship with his own father, saying: "The other thing that we haven’t really touched upon and something that is very present in my mind with all of this, in terms of having a baby, in terms of trying to achieve as much as I can in my career is that I want to do all of it with him around and obviously I know that that’s not going to be the case forever and so… that’s why."
